« on: April 24, 2006, 03:25:46 PM »
i was using the yates approved because of the diff proteins and it doesnt upset my stomach(whey just sits there). went to re-up at vitamin shoppe and the didnt have any yates so i read the label on the sytha 6 and it was similar so i spent the 27 dollars and i love it(chocolate). best tasting pro powder ive had, ever.

You paid for whey CONCENTRATE...it's only about 60% bio-available.

I think you bought it because of the cool red jug with the cool lettering and because Ronnie Coleman uses it. You want a protein that has multiple protein sources in its highest purity and best bio-avaiability...

...with added digestive enzymes and a little bit of fat(s) from the right sources is the way to go...

Try any protein from BEVERLY International or PRIDE NUTRITION. Those two besides Nutribolic's ISO-BOLIC are the best on the market if you want QUALITY. You get what you pay for...may be a little more expensive but you are paying for QUALITY not aggressive marketing/oversaturated hype and a fraction of the salaries of big name BBers.

The syntha-6 is actually pretty good tasting but that goes for alot of BSN products. Taste is not the biggest concern for us meat heads though.

i got more than concentrate.
the yates is milk pro(micellar casien and caseinates), whey concentrate and isolate
bsn- whey concentrate and isolate, milk pro isolate, micellar casein and caseinate, egg albumen
im reading the labels now and appreciate any advice but both product look like alot more than whey concentrate.
tried the optimum whey and it is whey concentrate and isolate and causes me discumfort in the gut.
now with the yates or bsn.
trust me, ive been around bb'ing for 10 + years and i dont fall for the hype marketing.
i baught it for the price at the time and for what is in it. i dont care for the red jug.
the yates and the bsn both have digestive enzymes.
are we talking about the same syntha 6?
im used to paying more for the yates. it aint about money, its about quality as blockheadcantread stated.

That Syntha 6 is just a knock off of MHP's Probolic-SR, they just spend more money in advertising $....

I'm not gonna lie...MHP's PROBOLIC protein isnt a bad product...taste awesome. Latley i've been using Cookies/Creme Probilic w/ 6 pumps of liquid eggwhites and a little water and cap-full of flax for bed-time shake...taste phenomenal(sp?)

I just whole-heartedly belive any company that sigs big name BB's and heavily advertises...you should think twice. It cost lots of $$$ to advertise aggressivley and to pay a team of BB's or even a pro wrestler...to get funding for that, money has to be cut somewhere and thats always the quality/purity of the ingredients...so corners are cut and you are paying for a flashy label with warm-colors and pretty ads in magazines.

I'm telling you heethens now...try basically EVERYTHING from Beverly International and you'll never go back. Pride Nutrition has a really good protein formula...a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

Good point on the marketing, but I'll tell you what though... One of my accounts does their website, and he's told me that they have a very small staff, very small office and only like 3 sales reps for the whole country..... (I see they are saving in payroll...) I like companies that were started by bodybuilders, like MHP and Gaspari, these guys are passionate about the sport and they carry the same believes to their products.

Which company were you refering to, BigJay? I know PRIDE NUTRITION is built the same way...they are Chicago-based but have a small staff and run the company out of a little 3 cubicle office but they have awesome products no shit!

Yep...Gaspari/MHP/LaBrada...you gotta respect companies started by BB'ers and people who have a genuine love/passion for the game. I feel you on that!
