Age limits? Term limits as well
These two year stints in congress are bullshit. Before the 1st year is up all of congress is playing prevent defense just to get re-elected. This is off the cuff so don't hold me to it but I like the presidential elections every 4 years. I could live if a third term were allowed. I'd like to see house seats go to 4 year terms but with limits. Again, I'd be ok with 2 or even 3 terms. No pensions for these cocksuckers even though I'm pro-pension. They make more than enough money to put 15% away into a 401K or whatever else is out there. They should also buy their healthcare off the exchange or the private sector. Senate? I'm fine with 6 year terms but I think 2 terms is plenty. Again, 3 I could live with.
There should be an equation for when they leave office as far as becoming lobbyists. Off the top of my head, however many years you served in government is the number of years you should have to be out of office before you can be employed as a lobbyist. 18 years in the senate? Have to wait 18 years before lobbying or anything closely related to it.
Age limits? Not really fully committed to that cause. Perhaps you have to be elected before you are medicare eligible but cannot run once past that number. Not sure if it's 65 or 66 or when the cut off is.
