Yeah ..was his training partner too but still think Rich could have got one Mr O . He was definetly a dedicated Bodybuilder, diet ..etc. always liked his physique.

Gaspari was harder & drier than Haney and most everyone else but his structure really hurt him in the mandatories

Really enjoyable - thanks for posting.  Because I wasn't a huge Gaspari fan - respected him of course, just not a fan - I 'd never realised just how 'Italian' his family life was.  I mean, just imagine the willpower required to sit at that table and ignore the smell of all that pasta and hit the tupperware instead... wow... just wow...(smh)

Also, in the same way that Zane was called 'The Chemist', I always wondered if Rich was considered to be just a bit more (bro)scientific regarding the hormones than his peers..?

No idea about what he took, they all juiced but I just liked his insane ..maybe the wrong word but his knowledge of diet. sure drugs can get you super ripped but even in the 80s he was beyond human.

Dude was fucking tiny, and a lot of his poses absolutely sucked. 

Shitty FDB, shitty lat spreads.  I think that the ab-'n-thigh was his best pose, and even that wasn't great.  Haney brutally dominated him on all side and back poses.

He competed in a relatively weak era, and did the best he could with the hand he was dealt.  That is all.

Gaspari was hot shit when I became interested in bodybuilding. Guy had a bulging (no homo), skin-about-to-tear look to him. His structure, etc. basically sucked, yeah, but he packed a lot of dense muscle, no question.

With what he had, he achieved A LOT.
