We truly are the last bastion for freedom of speech in many respects. We allow for people here to take part in unadulterated exchanges of ideas/thoughts.
No moderator agrees with half the shit some of our members post, but we aren't so quick to just nuke your account. Time changes people. It allows for maturation in many respects. As we get older, some of us (I'd like to think the vast majority of us) realize that the things we got bothered by yesterday are less important today. Some things, like blatant criminal acts, are never condoned. But we also aren't cops that are here to police every one of our members. We (moderators) come here to share and enjoy ourselves in the process. You (I mean anyone) want something removed that you find offensive or that clearly violates the rules? Simply send me a PM like a civilized person and I will gladly delete the content. Now, if you think any one of the moderators actually sit here and read every single post members make, that's not realistic. We see some things, others we don't. For instance, I always have GetBig logged onto my cell phone, but that doesn't mean that I'm glued to this place. We all have lives. We also don't go after every single troll or troublemaker every day of the week. Sometimes, we ban someone and by the end of the day they have registered a new account with a new email and IP address. How are we supposed to keep up with things like this? We can't. We also won't play rock'em sock'em with gimmicks just to satisfy the role that some members might think we have.
Years back, I stopped using Facebook. Why? Because they are spying on you. You have no privacy and they overly censor things.
Years back, I stopped using Instagram. Why? See above (owned by the same parent company).
Not too long ago (after Biden took the White House), I also stopped using Twitter. Why? It's hard to get a single Tweet in without getting a warning about language, content or just about anything the cheer committee at Twitter finds offensive or contradictory to the "woke" crowd.
You know what I love about GetBig? You can practically post whatever the fuck you want and no one is breathing down your neck about every single rule and policy. We are human. Sometimes we say offensive shit to each other. Get over it. No one wants anyone to be physically harmed in real life. No one here wants family members (wives/husbands, children) to be harmed. We firmly stand by that, but we also can't stop the tendency that we as humans have in frankly acting stupid sometimes.
