OK,the one and only time I met Mike was at the Maters Nats one year in Pa......he was well over three hundred pounds and completely fat and out of condition......I mean he looked terrible,but he had a contractual obligation to guest pose that day so he did.
Anyway,before he posed he went to the microphone on the podium and apologized to the crowd that he was looking so sloppy and said he had very little time to train due to being ill and to travelling a lot.
Anyway,he guest posed anyway and ripped his T-shirt off ala Hulk Hogan and went down into the crowd and hit some crab shots and what not.....dude got a standing ovation and then he apologized again.
I talked to him backstage and once I told him I was from Mass. he went nuts....we shot the shit for about a solid hour..........great guy,very likeable and very sad that he passed so young......in spite of his condition,the crowd loved him.
