the aircraft that went down was a Marine Osprey V-22

they are notorious for having difficulty in air - they usually have foldable wings and they operate with winged propellers

the ARMY does not have a variant of this aircraft - they use helicopter which are better equipped to handle more payload as well as cheaper to produce

they fly these around the coast line here - I see them a lot - they have used then to transport government officials small distances but they WILL NOT use these aircraft to transport the president because of the known issues from the past

Pretty common for these old military planes to crash.

Back in 98 there was an old military cargo plane that went down in the Vegas desert, this was the plane that was carrying several high profile criminals. Thankfully there was as an ex military hero who was wrongly imprisoned aboard this flight and he kept everything in check until the authorities arrived.
