prob had his dopamine levels all fckd - not being around a bunch of bigger guys all the time (just like guys who workout in their garage)
he (and they) tend to believe and think they are the rulers of the world , they start to enjoy hearing themselves speak, they tend to bullshit more and be very narcissistic
Very good description of Mentzer at the end of his life. He began speaking in a pompous, pseudo-intellectual way usually reserved for writing articles. He began using obscure words just for the effect of showing how intellectual he was. One time in behind the scenes footage of Heavy Duty video series filming, Ray questioned why women were attracted to Dorian because Ray thought Dorian was ugly and Mike answered, "He's not teratological ugly. Do you know what that word means?". Incorrect use of the word and awkwardly used to show intelligence.
In almost all bodybuilding interviews, a warm up question is "How old were you when you got interested in bodybuilding?" Whenever Mentzer was interviewed and given this question, he would give the EXACT same answer, word for word; "At the age of 11 I clearly remember I was at a local newsstand looking over a vast array of magazines and after a period of time my attention became arrested by the sight of a bodybuilding magazine". This is great for writing an autobiography but Mentzer would have casual conversations in this manner of speech. He just LOVED to hear himself speak.
Not sure what role meth had in this, but he definitely fit the word
spun when people describe meth addicts.
