Wasn't he close to 300lbs with abs until the end? I don't understand these dudes trying to stay huge forever. I'm nowhere near the size of any of them, obviously,  but I took off 20lbs of muscle last year. I'm 45 I don't need to be as big as possible

Yeah I remember seeing a video shortly before his death where he stepped on a scale to show that he was still huge and over 300.  I can still remember the heavy breathing 

Being that huge seems so uncomfortable and impractical, staying that size when retired really shows how some of these guys have nothing else to live for

The same guy who outed Mentzer, larry Pollock, said in the same interview that he trained with Nasser.  Said Nasser moved a lot. Lots of reps and very little rest between sets. Said it was very hard to keep up with him. But he also said that Nasser was complaining to him how synthol ruined his body. Talking about how it deteriorated his muscles and how it's difficult for the body to bresk down so he had to have surgeries to drain it out or something along those lines. He said that just a few minutes later Nasser was injecting more synthol! This was after nasser was done competing.

I used to see him at World Gym in Pacific Beach, San Diego back in the day. A truly massive guy. Never saw him lifting big weights, just lots & lots of reps with lower poundage. Always seemed out of breath, even when he was just showing up at the gym. Always very nice though, and would talk to everyone

Nasser seemed clever but pretty passive aggressive - most likely had a huge chip on his shoulders. His early physique was among the very best.
