Why though?
Im not religious at all. I suppose I'm agnostic or athiest. So knowing that my beliefs run contrary to the church I would never go to the church and try and impose my beliefs.
That's one of the more disturbing elements of the woke movement. It's no longer enough to 'live and let live' it's no longer enough to merely accept others way of life or life choices. You now have to embrace it in every facet of your own life. It's no longer good enough to be supportive of a given movement, you now are compelled to be "Anti" of any contrary belief.
I agree. Sometimes it is a bridge too far. I like that you exampled both sides of an issue. One doesn't have to be pro or nay about everything in life. It is quite possible to be neutral, as in 'live and let live' or I don't care either way especially about those issues which do not affect you.
Likewise, many of the more adamant folks on Getbig insist people have to be politically and philosophically at the extreme left or the extreme right - never the twain shall meet. As in "Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet." Rudyard Kipling. Substituting the words right for east and left for west.
