I agree with that. Bertil was arrested in 1997 when he was 46 [assuming he was arrested immediately]. Scratch that - the murder happened two months before his 46th birthday if I recall correctly.

And in that "Death and the Bodybuilder" video on YouTube, it shows him at what appears to be the courthouse, in a suit, and still massive.

He would have been 46-47 there, and still on steroids, from what I can tell.

Bertil would have likely stayed on forever.

So yes, in a very real way, jail may have saved his life.
