I met a guy on the beach in Kenya selling weed, he was a good guy we got friendly during the week and he invited me to visit his family home and then go to a nightclub with his mates.
My wife thought I was crazy for going but I sensed he didnt have any bad intentions

His home was a pile of wooden front doors nailed together with a tarp over the top and dirt floors

We went to the nightclub which on approach just looked like the roof on the house in the video but much larger

Kinda. Stone age technology can be a rational choice in a stone age world tho. If there's no roads, and the land is raw, a wheel is worse option than a skid. Roads are preferable. You can move shit easily. But they come with a labor force engaged in a common purpose who are being compensated somehow since road building without pay doesn't provide sustenance. And there's presumably some teleological purpose for the road beyond the workman's wages. Plus the other logistical necessities, etc, this all implies a political and economic infrastructure as precedent to road building.

On a strictly technological level, a wheel is more than just a circle. To carry weight the hub has to be a bearing. That's a whole tech can of worms itself. Frictional worries, wear, heat. Nevermind axles and frames. A rotating element also needs concentricity which needs lathe-esque setups. Then we have to take all these independently fabricated pieces and keep them together in a durable assembly, which isn't going to happen with wood. We need metal, smithing, and machining.

"The Wheel" is no small.feat. it seems so at first glance but I think there's a lot going on there.

I went out of the resort compound in Jamaica after telling the gurad on the gate to open the fucking door because he wouldnt let me out.

I went for a walk and ended up buying some roast chicked from a kid on a bike with a small split oil drum welded on the handlebars that was a makeshift barbecue.
I then walked off the main road to a small village and bought some homemade beaded jewellry from some women sat outside their houses and had a can of coke from a small shop and sat talking to the locals

On my way back along the main road the hotel mini bus pulled up with the rep and two police officers, they had been out looking for me
