Man I was just getting into bb back then.
Many experts and fellows on the scene thought he was a dead man walking, he killed himself a few days in advance by not drinking for 3 days, only fruit for fluids, popping strong diuretics. When the situation became acute it was far too late. The other pros said he walked around with a drug bag and was popping pills constantly. He was on so much clen he couldn't even drink a coffee with one hand. Dr Mauro DiPasquale thought probably his predicament and vital signs indicating distress were hidden by his Nubain use so the initial doctors didn't get a good look knowing all the facts. Supposedly at the last show he had to be carried to the competition venue from the tour bus because he was cramped up and seized up. Some pros said Momo asked them to feel his muscles and they were cold, clammy and hard as concrete.
That's what I call hardcore. I thought Momo was one of the very best at the time. Munzer was in a class of his own too in some ways. Too bad these guys had to go, though I'm sure they knew this was a real possibility. Or should have.
