Makes sense, i was just curious.

He looks great.

Indeed. And that's what frustrates me about natural bodybuilding contests. Did you happen to see Generation Iron: Natty 4 Life?

The big men get beat by ultra-ripped smurfs. And it's not as if they aren't in shape. Rob Terry losing to Phil Ricardo was a travesty.

Guys like Terry and Oketch needs to get more promotion, if you want natural bodybuilding to get any traction. Anabolics or no anabolics, bodybuilding is about size.

Haven't seen it but watched the trailer.

The fact that Mike O'hearn is showcased boils my blood a little.

Can't find a free link and i'm not paying for it.

If you know of a free download i'll gladly watch it.

I agree that size is everything.

Here's a free link (I think it's a Japanese site).

Kai Greene is also in the film. He says he was seduced by anabolics, only after he had already won the Natural Mr. Universe (I first heard of him in All-Natural MD, which stated he won the 1995 WNBF Mr. Universe).

Thanks!

You're welcome.

I think Oketch got ROBBED by not even being in the top 5 at that show. Granted, he does appear lanky in certain shots, compared to his peers, due to his height. But, he was still big and in shape.

Yes, i felt it was a decent watch.

I have a hard time believing these guys are truly natural. But i do believe they don't take a lot of AAS or perhaps are using something else.

Seeing guys in their late 40's that size is a bit crazy.

And Mike O'Hearn is the biggest liar in the industry.

I do believe some people are genetic freaks, but i'm curious how the testing works for GH, IGF, Slin and other peptides.

INBA/PNBA says they use WADA standards. So, if you're familiar with how they test, you're in good shape.

One of the top 5 in the men's open got popped (the white guy with braids in his hair) and is in the "Hall of Shame". According to the film, he was the only one.

As for age, I believe both Terry and Oketch are in the mid/late 30s (38 and 33, respectively, as of the filming of Natty 4 Life). The guy who won the Natural Olympia (Phil Ricardo) was 48.

Yeah, I'm familiar with WADA, just not sure exactly how the tests are measured as far as IGF and other factors. I glanced at the website and it's a little vague. I don't think these guys are using traditional AAS like Test/EQ/Tren; but knowing what i do about more exotic compounds, it makes me curious.

I'm just curious what these guys are able to get away with.

I believe some of them are natural, but others not at all.

Terry was juiced to the tits when he wrestled, but he looks much different in this video.

Also, there are Therapeutic Exemptions, which makes me curious too.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what i think. ;D

Well, since one got popped, that is unfortunately true.

I take it your skepticism circles more around the two big men, Terry and Oketch.

INBA/PNBA doesn't require lifetime natty status. I don't know if there is an organization that does. The WNBF requires 10 years drug-free (it used to be 7).

How can you prove a person hasn't used in 7 or 10 years?

If what I read on INBA's site is correct, you would need two sworn affidavits from character references, to start.

In addition to that, my guess is you'd have to test them extensively, particularly urine and blood tests.

That doesn't seem financially feasible. Did you see the prize money? It's $5,000 and a goofy-looking car or motorcycle for the winner.

I'm skeptical on the winner too, at his age being in that shape is nearly impossible for a "natty".

I know the detection times of GH, IGF, SARMS and other peptides; that's what i believe these guys are using. They all have that crazy thick skin on their faces that you get from using a lot of GH for extended periods.

The smaller guy Adrian? He looks along the lines of what i think is obtainable as a natural.

The organizations are doing the right thing, i have no beef with that.

But the film being call Natty 4 Life is pretty stupid, considering they are using Mike O'Hearn as a spokesman.

Just my opinion. I think it was a good show and worth watching.

It's not for money.

That prize money barely covers travel expenses.

It's for the attention and pride.

Same reason why people like me used to compete. I competed in BBing a little and powerlifting for 7 years. Never made a dime and traveled all over the US.

For glory and honor. ;D

Perhaps. But, he did win the Natural Olympia just a few years earlier and had only been retired for a short time. It's not as if he just started hitting the iron. Ricardo mentioned that he did compete against many of these entrants of that show, with the exception of Rob Terry (and perhaps Oketch).

But, he's short. Terry and Oketch are 6'4". And given that Oketch is a strongman/powerlifter, it's plausible he's natural as he's trains for strength primarily. I came up under the school that the only way natties get BIG is if they get STRONG.

Indeed. With regards to the SARMS, GH, and peptides, I'm under the impression that those items are far more costly than plain ol' roids. Given these guys make peanuts (most have regular jobs; Rob Terry is a firefighter) and have no endorsements (as the golden years of supplement companies a-plenty have gone away), how on earth can they afford that stuff?

I'd agree with half of that, honor. But, where's the glory? Remember when I posted the 1996 ABA Natural Mr. Universe (won by John Hansen) that was held in a hotel conference room.

The Natural Mr. Olympia was held in a similar venue, albeit with a bit more panache. And this particular (INBA/PNBA) organization actually wants to literally shame people by posting them on social media, if they get popped on a drug test (unless they're a junior novice competitor under 21).

They afford those drugs the same way they afford ridiculous amounts of food and travel expenses. People will spend money on things they care about. When i was using insane amounts of AAS, i was spending around $300 a month. GH is the only thing that is expensive, the other items are dirt cheap.

Being 48 with that level of muscularity is unheard of, i'm curious if he has an exemption?

I'm just stating my opinion and i've been personally involved with this stuff for 20 years.

Like the fancy stars people have on here and other boards, indicating they are somehow better off than others.

The stories people tell about back in the day. sorry wes

How all of us try to convince others we know more because of what we have accomplished.

And the reason i still have all of my trophies from when i competed. ;D

There's an old guy at my gym, who is ripped to the bone. But, he's 150 max.

Obviously, that guy isn't Ricardo's size. But, I've met some ripped seniors, including my wife's uncle from England (who is an amateur lightweight bodybuilder).

I don't think food is that expensive, if you have a decent job. Terry is a firefighter and (as you know) was a pro wrestler. I don't know what Oketch does for a regular job. Feeding those two dudes must be a chore, especially Oketch.

Terry seems to stay fairly close to contest shape in the off-season; while Oketch looks much BIGGER when he's powerlifting/doing strongman stuff.

And isn't that one of the big knocks on natty bodybuilders? They're nice and swole in the off-season; but they diet down and look like crackheads.
