order of exercise
« on: October 23, 2022, 08:24:07 AM »
now i am sick & tired of telling people not to train shoulders before biceps, watch his front delts work in unison with biceps.

Train the larger muscle group first in most cases.

Train chest by itself train back by itself train shoulders and traps, train bis and tris superset. That’s how it’s done.

You can do whatever you want and experiment on yourself.  If you are a personal trainer and giving clients this advices you are incorrect.

Not sure why you would train delts and biceps in a split but if you did enough presses your tri's would get worked.  In any event you would train the larger shoulder and delt area first because it takes more energy to do and you train it heavier.

If you trained shoulders and arms (bi's and tri's) you would train shoulders (delts) first and end with the arms.  Otherwise your arms would be too fatigued to properly train the shoulders.

In a full body workout train the large muscle groups first unless you are focusing on bringing up a weak bodypart.  This is because the large groups requite more energy to train.

For example: Legs, chest, back, shoulders, arms, calves.  Legs take the most energy to train so you do them first.  Bodybuilders who train legs last tend to skip legs as they are too tired.

However, if you wanted to bring up your arms you could train them first but understand this will negatively impact your leg training and the following pressing and pulling movements.

Steve Reeves would train his legs last but he had great legs and wanted to emphasize his upper body shoulder region.

actually Chest/Back
            Legs
            Shoulders & arms
is a very common split.  ;)

Yes, no problem and that shows shoulders before arms which is what I said.

Monday - Back

Wednesday- shoulders than triceps

Friday- Chest than biceps

Sunday-Legs

My split. Works for me. Weightlifting is not complicated. If it is for you find another “sport”.

Me, the last 12 years.

Sweet.

How old are you?
How did train you do prior the last 12 years?

What contest did you compete in prior to this training style and how did you place? And please provide the same details after your 12 years of using this method.

Also are you in better “shape and condition” over the last 12 years compared to how you trained before?

Thanks!

Obviously do what works for you and brings you success. I tend to agree with Bhanks that any training is beneficial compared to no training, but it’s always specific to individual needs.

Mon. - Legs
Tues. - Chest
Wed. - Back
Thurs. - Shoulders
Fri.- Arms
Sat. - Off
Sun. - Off

Best system I ever used......Legs which are brutal get done first on Monday, while most guys bench for two hours straight, then the bigger more demanding and heavier bodyparts are trained on the following days, down to the smaller less demanding ones.
