Felt Silva showcased good footwork, solid control of distance, cut angles fairly well, but did not utilize his jab as much as I think he could have to score easy points. Silva slowed down substantially past the 5th round, whereby it was much easier to land shots on him. Still, for a 47 year old man with a shitload of mileage on the tank, I think he did very well and certainly showcased better boxing than Paul.
Paul is young (25), appears strong and has solid cardio/stamina. His shots look like they sting. His boxing isn't great, but against slower competition with less stamina and no knockout power, he will do just fine. The knockdown was key, otherwise, it could have been a draw.
Good job from Paul and correct call from judges. This was definitely the most entertaining fight Paul has had thus far. Anderson Silva made it fun to watch and really rolled with the punches well. I wish Anderson the best with whatever other fights he has, he should continue to have fun and make great money in the process.
Paul should not fight Nate Diaz. Nate Diaz is not a good boxer, regardless of what UFC commentators say. The guy is simply sloppy and takes everything like a damn street fight. Against a guy like Paul, with a heavy hook, he'll get knocked the fuck out.
