Episode 2 -
Open on Sally looking extra hard. Asked if she's a murder, defiantly claims self defense.
Ffwd to 1995, clip of Sally, Ray and the kids at a New Year's party, she does the robot for a few seconds, a cute Micky Mouse clock is shown.
Claims Ray beat her worse around contest time, sorta pins them on roid rage from an upped dose. Sally started getting really nervous after Gordon Kimbrough choked his girlfriend to death, claimed she was going to move back east to Penn.
Valentine's 1995 -
Normal nice start to the day, Ray doesn't come home for hours, Sally starts to rage. Figures Ray is at Mccabe's, the local bar/club. Ray comes home as Sally is getting ready to go there to look. She claims he was 3 days away from comp, on 5 different steroids. Kids knew something was going to happen.
Sally tells ray he looks like shit and he won't place at all, he wasn't striated. He socks her, then chokes her, which the daughter runs in and sees. Sally runs to the bedroom and loads up the pump after breaking free. She really makes him out to be a monster while describing this. She shoots Ray, her daughter sees the second shot. Whole house fills with the smell of blood (coppery). Sally covers Ray with blanket, and passes the shot gun off to a neighbor so the cops don't shoot her.
Cop call plays, it's pretty matter of fact. You can hear the kids screaming something like "OMG, Daddy is dead" in the background. You can hear Ray trying to talk, it's muffled like a man speaking with food in his mouth, this scares the kids, they scream.
The kids reflect on it years later. The daughter is middle of the road, the boy really hated Ray.
Police interrogation is shown. The daughter is traumatized recounting the story of the beating, doesn't seem rehearsed. Sally claims she felt guilty, so she talked to the cops freely, wishes she lawyered up in hindsight. She's very plain and matter of fact recounting it on the interrogation tape most of the time. Does cry when she hears he's dead. Says she murdered him to the cops, reiterates that it was because of the beating. They formally arrest her, but let her see the kids once more. Kids are barefoot, it's a rough scene with her explaining that they have to go to foster care till they can work out send them to family in Penn.
Interview with the DA that prosecuted Sally. He was a tough, no nonsense guy. Saw no remorse in the interrogation. Clip plays of her taking a blanket and sleeping on the floor during the questioning. He claims that sorta sealed her guilt in his eyes. Sally just claims shock.
Sally's lawyer is interviewed. First order of business was to shrink Sally down so that she wasn't imposing. No clothes with shoulder pads, etc.... In the court footage, she looks as wide as him.
Judge was sympathetic, knocked her bail down to $100,000 from $1 million the DA asked for. Her lawyer explains how the schmoes paid it off, he seems amused. Sally is eternally grateful for them.
Kids were sent to the grandparents. They let it slip that Sally's parents were alcoholics that cleaned up, and took raising them as a second chance. Kids loved them.
Ray's stack at time of murder according to autopsy -
Test, Masteron, Deca, Halotestin, Anadrol, and Clen. Test/Epi of 32.
Sally had one, they don't say what it was, but she liked Anavar as mention.
DJ Jeffers thinks Ray was unfairly treated because he was black and big.
DA plays footage of 4-5 guys interviewed that said Sally was violent. One recounts story of Sally throwing dumbbells down at Ray and his car from a second floor balcony. He shows military and police record of bad conduct - fighting, drinking, resisting arrest, etc...
Kids admit Sally was wild. She'd joke that she'd wear big rings to dent people's heads:). Sally punched out the parents of the kids her kids had fights with, she beat the mailman. It took 5 cops to settle her down one time, she schmoe wrestled them to keep them at bay. She claims she was just under stress and protecting herself and family.
Most fights with Ray were because of cheating. Ray didn't care that she knew, he was banging tons of women. There friends were scared for Ray.
Bill Wick chimes in that he saw Sally fight at bodybuilding shows, most notably the 1990 Steel Rose contest. Sally saw a girl talking to Ray. She tossed the girl to the ground, punched her in the face while yelling "You fucked my husband". They banned her for 1 year.
Ray's friends say Sally was just place holder, he had a real girlfriend named Marianne Meyers(sp? on last name) Police recording with her is shown. She was with Ray for 3 1/2 years as a side piece. Sally banned her from Gold's, if Sally saw her there , it was on sight. Marianne took the warning.
She was who Ray was with on Valentine's. Ray, himself, was going to break up with Sally at some point in the year.
Sally is questioned about this by the film director, she rages. Whore, Slut, I'm his Wife, etc....
DA's theory is Sally knew it was ending, she lies in wait, shotguns him. Her lawyers says Sally was obsessed with Ray.
Flashback to Sally growing up in Allentown, PA (Sidenote, young Sally was one ugly fucking kid, egads).
Sally grow up in a mixed area, gravitated toward the black folks. Best friend mentions that Sally told her that Sally's mom was kicked in the stomach at 8 months pregnant with Sally. New stepfather resented caring for Sally, beat her, made her wear old clothes. Sally throw herself into sports to stay away from home. Parents spit on her for being a " N- lover". Couldn't pay for college after a certain point, so she joined the Marines. Tells the story of Tony, her Ex in the Marines before Ray. She has a thing for brooding black dudes. Claims he beat her too, she divorces him, transfers to Camp Pendleton, meets Ray.
Hilarious moment when she claims she was a good wife to him, except for the day she killed him. She was a bad wife that day.
End.
Next episode, the trial.
Rating -
3 pistol gripped pumps out of 5. Don't like the structure of this episode, and the bodybuilding mags and transcripts had more trashy info, but the archive footage saves it.
