I'm not sure but it seemed theatrical, to me, anyway. Look: he's playing with the big boys. You can't go along and not attempt to placate the ADL, CLU, etc: of course he's going to have some underling 'director' of some department invite some assholes into some meeting and broadcast that he's interesting in 'tackling hate speech issues relevant to our times' - it's what they do. Deep down: he's got no time for those morons. Being his age with his life experience: he's thick skinned. Doesn't mean he doesn't have to go through the motions. His advertisers have to know that he's at least making an effort to be a cuck. Simple as that.
