If the finished product looks as good as the plastic teeth when this procedure is complete, it will be worth all the cost in dollars and pain. The temps are a huge improvement. Much better choice that old style false teeth. Might as well get them as white as possible while still looking natural.

I have the good fortune to still have 30 original teeth. Two molars were extracted when I was a kid for orthodontics, (overbite -  buck teeth). I even still have all four wisdom teeth, although two have gold crowns because I cracked them chewing ice.

Why did you turn your back on your wife as she died from cancer?

Thanks …. And you are very fortunate to have your own teeth in great shape! ( one of the first things I notice upon meeting someone is their teeth/ not sure why lol….  Total turnoff = a hot girl with a messed up grill ….and missing teeth seems “ white trash-like” to me .. so I was miserable working as a security officer in a mall with a messed up grill! (Never smiled / kind of depressed ) my old dentist (when a front tooth had turned to mush and fallen out) said  that it “ made me look mean” like that was a good thing! I quickly decided to explore my options and get a different dentist! …to me it was “ life changing “ as corny as that sounds…..

Yeah, but not worth me happening to find his "before" pics while I was eating breakfast.

My wife had a couple implants and the cost was similar per tooth, even more I think.

It's a lengthy and expensive process.

I don't see how you could go to Turkey and get it done in one shot.

It takes a year at least for the implanted posts to heal into the jawbone before the permanent caps can go on.

I had a root canal and cap put on last winter and had multiple visits over a couple months to the endodontist.

You need a week there 5 days for treatment

A week is not enough.

The implanted posts have to heal into the jawbone and it takes many months.

Maybe they only do the implant part and then you go home and get the caps done in the States after healing.

That could be how it works.  A cap is around $1k where I live.  I would think putting the cap on the exposed post would be pretty simple.

Veneers are a whole different thing but they are expensive as heck too.

Around 1K here for root-canal, post/crown (Thats w/ insurance).

I had four, 40+ year old fillings that finally fell out. The old metal ones.
They look like dried solder.

I had the four root-canals and post/crowns done, so around 4K. I still have all my wisdom teeth, but finally getting one yanked.
It also had a 40+ year old filling that fell out while eating the great "Jujyfruits". No use in fixing a wisdom-tooth, yank it.

(Dr. Isaac Yankem).  Dental Office of "Dewey, Yankem and Howe".

Why did you turn your back on your wife as she died from cancer?

No surprise from idiot irishdave. Only a mentally disturbed, evil, and ignorant person would ask anyone such a question.

I never 'turned my back' on my wife when she was ill. I retired from my job early so I could better care for her during the last six years of her life. My wife did not die from cancer. She did not have cancer when she died.

This is impressive to have all of your original teeth.

Thanks. This is partly due to good genetics (at least dental genetics).

It is also partially the result of my not taking good care of my teeth in my teens and twenties. This resulted in having periodontal disease when I was about 26. As a result, I had to get my roots planed which was a lengthy and uncomfortable process. I went to the periodontist twice each week for several weeks. On each visit, they planed the roots on two or three teeth.

As a result of that experience, I see a dental hygienist twice a year to have my teeth professionally cleaned.  I also became an avid flosser and never missed brushing my teeth at least twice a day. I bought my first Philip's Sonicare electric toothbrush in 1992 which was went they were first available in stores. I still use one today. My diet is excellent which is important to maintaining healthy gums which in turn enhances nutrients consumed.

It is not unusual for people with severe dental issues such as missing, broken or rotting teeth to avoid smiling. A person can be completely happy and look like they are not if they don't or don't smile/grin at appropriate moments.

One time many years ago I was enjoying a drink at a bar and conversing with the person/stranger sitting next to me. At one point she asked me if my teeth were real because they were so white. When I said they were, thinking I was lying she reached over and yanked on my front teeth then acted surprised that they didn't come out as she believed they were dentures. I was shocked at her being so aggressively rude.

Wisdom teeth are fine if you have room in your mouth for them so they don't become impacted. They can be a problem for people with small jaws and large teeth. I would not choose to have mine yanked unless they were severely compromised.

Did they not have local anesthetic back then or something?

I had this done a few years back in one sitting. Definitely helped in a big way with my oral health.

yea they drilled into my jaw Bone and installed 12 “abutments “ (most people usually get “ 4 on one “ or eight abutments all together…. They also had to do some bone grafting (as I had bone recession in my jaw) … the problem with going to Turkey is I have been to the oral surgeon/ dentist probably 50 times in the last year (needed 2 surgeries just to remove all my teeth ) then it had to to heal ….had to go in and get the temp teeth removed for x- rays and to make molds and casts …. One of the top implants or abutments broke while trying to put in the permanent top implant teeth ( so that was another surgery to install a new implant or abutment) right now a year later I have my permanent/ dental implant teeth on the bottom and in a few weeks I get the tops put in … I couldn’t stay in Turkey for a year nor fly back and forth! … you have to have someone drive you to the surgeries and take care of you (they don’t allow “ Uber” or a taxi … I ended up losing 30 pounds! (Can’t eat obviously and in so much pain can’t really drink either) it’s been a hell of a process / journey! But I would do it all over again! .

Thanks. I've had so many problems with my teeth I don't even want to into it all. I'm exploring my options for some extensive work. Though I can say a root canal doesn't even phase me now, I could fall asleep during it I'm so used to it.

IIRC - From what was posted on here ,
You most certainly did not turn your back on your wife.

Thats a very nasty & uncalled for comment by David,
