People say there's a homeless problem in San Francisco but then complain when social programs are started to help them out.

How else would you reduce the number of homeless people on the streets?  Some type of 'final solution'?

Instead of "social programs" that don't work, maybe do something about the rampant drug abuse instead of promoting it? Maybe bring back some form of mental health care instead of letting them shit on the street outside of restaurants? I don't understand why you want to kill all the homeless people?

You hit the nail on the head, Chaos. The problem is drugs/alcohol with most homeless people. In fact, it's probably how they became homeless in the first place.

Addiction is hard. You can try to help someone all you want....job....a place to stay, but if they have not beaten back those demons, they will throw it all away.

Most are awesome people, with a problem that they struggle to overcome.

Back in May, San Francisco Mayor London Breed announced her five-year plan to end transgender homelessness. Breed had budgeted $6.5 million to end trans homelessness by 2027. We thought that must have been a mistake; surely she had budgeted $6.5 million to end all homelessness, right? Wrong. The piece she linked to in her tweet announcing the five-year plan confirmed that it was targeted toward trans homelessness.
