Anyone have Achilles tendinitis in the heel?????
« on: December 01, 2022, 01:39:18 PM »
A few months ago, i noticed a nice bump on the back of my right heel, though it looked weird. Starting getting bigger and bigger, and then my heel started to hurt as i walked. Now, i have a nice sized bump on my heel, and the pain is terrible.

Waited a few months for it to go away or get better, it got worse. Got in to see a foot doctor, and it said it’s Achilles tendinitis. Gave me a walking boot to use. It has been two months, and no change. Still hurts, in the morning i can barely walk, till things get stretched out a bit.

Sometimes the pain is worse that other times, but its always there. Sucks.  Anyone have this?????

You probably need physical therapy, and your doc should have given you a referral for PT.

I had distal biceps tendinitis for a year.  Doc referred me for PT and I had 10 or 12 sessions.  I kept up the exercises at home until it resolved.  PT focused on eccentric movements with baby weights (5 lbs, I think) and massage.  I don't know if tis applies to the achilles tendon, too, but it would be lowering yourself from the top position of heel raises - no actual rising.  Bodyweight might be too much stress.

Yes! I've been suffering with it for nearly a year, put it down to post covid pains. Now you mention the lump and my gf noticed that a while back, i just thought it was my boney heel.
The longer I'm on it, it eases up but when i get out of bed I'm limping or even after driving,  when i get out its back to limping.

Tb500 peptide did wonders in my shoulder tendinopathy.
Cold and heat might help healing due to increase bloodflow.

I ran a 10k on a sand/trail two Saturday's ago. I hadn’t ran in 4 years at least but figured I’d be okay because my cardio is decent from riding a bike. My right Achilles is still throbbing when going down the steps. Much better than it was the next day when I thought it was going to pop. Man getting old sucks.

When you stretch, you want to feel it in the center of the calf not the Achilles.

It’s not just the cardio. There’s a type of callusing that occurs from running regularly, kinda like when you lift regularly you don’t get as sore.

Tendon issue take forever as there’s not as much blood flow to the tendons.

I did a day walking in the mountains with hard boot inserts that some shop sold me and it caused palantar fasciitis and it lasted about 6 months, caused a lot of muscle tightness in the legs. i wore gell inserts for a while to soften the cushioning up.

PF sucks. It takes forever to heal because you can’t really rest it.

For tendinitis I always recommend taking Turmeric. It works for me but nowadays you have to be very careful to get a legit brand, and give it a while to start working.  Been taking it for decades.

I developed posterior tibial tendon dysfunction once from long-distance cardio. Hurts like fuck. I had inserts made by the doctor to restore proper foot position, and that fixed it. I was told to avoid the soft, gel inserts. I think Achilles tendinitis is very similar and you'd likely benefit from bespoke inserts.
