Not plaque, but calcium. A high score "can" be worrisome, until you go for all the follow-up tests to get full diagnosis.
Calcium (fixed) can be a lot of very little spots in a lot of places (that add up) and dont restrict blood-flow at all.
Plaque gets calcified before it can become a blockage issue. (Can protect from ruptures). Too much calcium in the same sport, can cause blockages.
I think he did all the follow-ups and is fine. I went thru it myself, so I know the routine. (Family / hereditary issue)
One good thing that statins will do is calcify any plaque before it can rupture.
When I went to all my follow-procedures, I had zero problems. Perfect ejection fraction, zero blockages, etc.
However, jumping on heavy gear cycle like he's doing, isnt going to help his future.
