Had to skip cardio, as I had to get home to wrap gifts and get ready to head to Rory’s aunts house.

Bhank, regarding my chest development using only calisthenics,  yeah its actually that good. Don't  knock  calisthenics til you try them. I'd post pics if I knew how. If any getbiggers are within an hour of philly I'd be happy to  train with you

30 minutes ss on airdyne or”assault “ bike for you know who
Been nursing an elbow all week so have only done cardio but hit quick legs today
2 light sets leg extensions then 3 sets to failure
Dumbbell squats 3 sets to failure or maybe one rep short
5sets leg curls then 5 sets calf raises
Some kicks on the heavy bag. punching is out for now
Nothing crazy but got some work in
Music was a whole album of Billy Joe Shaver
Then 2 songs

Nothing takes the place of you Tab Benoit
Last 2 songs you may not have heard but very good rhythm and bluesy sounding songs

Xmas fell on my off-day this year, which was good. (Rest day).
I normally train on Xmas if it falls on a normal training day.
Either at home, or at the local gym which is 24-hours...

I wish we had cameras everywhere back in the 70's.
It was on this day in 1978 (age 12) I got my home-gym start. (Would love to see pics of it today, how it was).

For Xmas parents got me:

Flat bench, two 110-lb weight sets, curl bar and small solid dumbbells. (A pair of 5's).
The 110-lb sets came with the dumbbell handles and collars also. Set it up in the basement, pics on the wall of Platz, Louie, Arnie, Franco, etc.

We fashioned some pulleys to the ceiling beam for "cable work". I just followed the York charts that came with the weight-sets, and of course "Muscle & Fitness".
Little cassette player, cranking Black Sabbath, Kiss, etc.  8)

It grew over the years, adding to it, removing some stuff, upgrading, selling some off, etc.
44 years later here we are, but great/fun memories back in the old house as a kid.
My buddy who owns the local gym that I go to, lived on my street and we started training together in my cellar. (I was 12, he was 13)
Doesnt seem like its that long ago, but we know time flies by...

7 weeks since I competed, body feels fully recouped and rested.
Tomorrow starts the prep for the next show in June
8 weeks increased food and heavier training with some compound movements.
Hoping to increase upper body thickness and overall size
Calorie restriction will begin 1st March.
Havent really gained much since my last show so should be at my all time best BF wise by June 4th
Probably my last year competing so will give it everything.
A top six placing at the Britain will get me a place at the Universe in October
That will be enough to satisfy the urge to get onstage again and at least I was good enough to stand onstage with the best.

The gym is 24/7 but completely buried in snow at the moment, I shoveled a 75 ft driveway with 7 ft drifts. God knows how many pounds were lifted but I feel like nice soreness in my legs and arms. Plus it made for great cardio.
