If it was possible, I feel like it would be a good idea to temporarily implement. It would allow us to get a grip on the current illegals in the country and allow us the opportunity and time to revamp the immigration system that currently exists. Otherwise it just gets used as a political talking point and no solution is ever found. (If they actually solved the problem, how would the media pit people against each other?)

once it's on the books the companies that hire them will have to pay them a  competitive wage, that's the part yall arent getting. these companies don't want to pay for salary, benefits, payroll takes, they want maximum profit. they want the under the table folks that get ICE called on them if they even start to complain about the work conditions. I was talking to someone in my industry, construction, and the consensus is that in ten or so years when the younger Boomers and older Gen X start to retire we are going to have a massive fall off in skilled/unskilled labor. I see it everyday, younger people not replacing older people, or them just not having the skill to do anything other than general labor but none want to put in the time to learn. We’ll have to go through a phase of importing folks or we could start promoting THR blue collar trades and positions like we did with college degrees.

I'm sure there are some social programs that could be put in place to utilize certain labor forces that could provide cheap labor without opening our borders to the scum of the earth drug dealers, child smugglers and criminals from other countries. A little creativity goes a long way.

Why wasnt your solution to go after those companies that hire illegals? why isnt that the goal of any administration? even the republicans that claim to do for border security never go after the people hiring illegals... and we all know where they are and what industries they work in
