Which pros routinely lie about their weight?
« on: April 26, 2006, 02:10:22 PM »
Some guys are pretty straight up about what they weigh.  Other constantly lie.  Strydom and Prince pop into mind as guys who stretch the numbers.  What others do this, and why?

my vote goes to all of em...they are sorta like women...whatever a chic says she weighs..you have to add ten or 20 lbs...whatever a bodybuilder says he weighs ...take off 20 lbs

Prince didn't lie about his weight. He has a huge lower body and still weighs a little over 200 pounds.

Tom claimed he was 240 at 8 percent body fat looking like he is now. I could believe 200 since he wears very baggy clothing but other than that no way.

But I do feel bad for the dude the mental side of losing so much size must do a number on him. Not to mention the health shit he has to deal with.

He can be an asshole tho

its not that hard you just pee it out. you dont pay attention and its all gone especially when your body doesnt want it any more and you dont train as serious (dont mean heavy what i mean is serious approach) nor do you take any serious compounds. shrinking is a fast process

reason many of us dont shrink when we go off if we go off is simply cuz we go on all you can eat diet (anything and everything) and it covers up pretty well for any temporary loss in size (if training is intact and you have enough muscle mass to begin with!) infact we many times gain size and weight during those time periods.

for the 100th time i will say it. you will never grow on clean diet. NEVER! no matter how much hormones you take (you will stop at 200-210/5'10 with low-low teens bf levels and be stuck there if you always eat clean and on hormones. nothing more)

Not true.

A clean diet provides all of the nutrients necessary for maximal muscle growth. The clean diet needs to be diverse and well rounded ... I agree that simple chicken/rice won't suffice. Meat, Simple and Complex Carbohydrates, Fruit, Vegetables, Milk, and Fats are the requisite elements.

Ultimately, its difficult to consume the sheer number of calories necessary to grow with only clean food options, but it is still entirely possible with enough time and discipline. If you are implying that the sort of stuff a clean diet lacks (such as trans fat - which may interfere with amino acids - or high fructose corn syrup - the worst carbohydrate source, completely bypasses the muscle and is stored as liver glycogen, once liver glycogen stocks are full the body begins to accumulate bodyfat) is necessary to gain size, then you are dead wrong.

this is all good for the science my friend. you can have whatever trans fats you want and whatever books you read all aranged for you and you wont make it in our world. period! the dispiline is good for pre competition crap it is good for 13-16 weeks maybe 20 weeks if youre really wacked but that is it. i do admit that if you compete more than once a year then some stuff needs to be changed but IN GENERAL you will never get bigger (muscle bigger) unless you eat whatever you want. now when i say whatever you want i dont mean drink fat and eat no protien...what i mean is you will grow the best if you consume a lot of calories that come from any fuckin place you can get them as long as there is enough protien within them you will do fine.

you DO NOT i repeat you do not get to my current 288 pounds offseason eating clean. period. yes you can look big 210 pounds and eat clean and do hormones and be stuck there but you will NEVER i say it again NEVER get BBBIG.

you also must understand that what i write here is not for the begginer bodybuilder!! it is for a bodybuilder that has his foundation and been around for couple years that already got down in bodyfat or brought it down low enough to begin this kind of growth. this is directed to people who are the average every day gym rat that wanna grow past 200 pounds at 12% (5'10) and wanna get to the next level size wize.

there is no other way if you wanna have BIG THICK muscles. no other way

Priest. I've seen him give interviews where he stated to be 250 lbs, when in reality he was around 320 lbs. The guy eats chicken burritos and epperoni pizza every day in the off-season and washes it down with Mountain Dew. Then, he has a belly that could earn him a some extra cash in december by being the Bloomingdale's Santa, yet he still wants us to belive he's 250 lbs. Yeah, right...

320? at 5'2 or whatever he is?  No way.  He's down on muscle too, when he gets all fat for those photo shoots.  NO way 320.  Ronnie coleman, at 5'10 or whatever, looks freaking HUGE at 315.  No way Lee does it at a few inches shorter

I doubt Lee gets to 250, 230 or so is probably accurate. He only got huge one time and that was for that MuscleTech ad, but he ate things more to make him look bloated which in turn made him look fatter than he was.

Understand something:despite all of his muscles, Lee is CLINICALLY OBESE in the off-season. Get it? Have you ever seen a picture of him in off-season shape? He looks like someone who's never workout-out in his entire life. Despite having huge muscles, he has so much fucking fat covering them that you can't see shit! At 320 lbs, Ronnie still has more definition than most of the skinny guys who workout at you gym. So, yeah, Priest does weight 320 lbs in the off-season and he doesen't look as good as Ronnie at that weight because...he is much shorter and has less muscle. Duh! :P

Fat weighs a lot more than muscle, and in those offseason pics, lee has a lot more fat than muscle.  He just uses maint. doses in offseason and piles on the cl*n for shows.  I would be happy to bet $1 that Lee has NEVER hit 320 pounds, much less EVERY offseason.

Dude, he's short. and 320 pounds is HUGE!  Quincy T is a foot taller and never tops 350 or 360.

Not all of them in the least. At the Ironman's Press Conference, when you do weigh them, complete with clothes and shoes (take off 5lbs), they were pretty accurate with their weight, some even saying they were lower than what they were. Some pros are very accurate in how much they weigh.

Muscle weighs more than fat. At least that is what I have always been told...but yeah...no way he ever weighed 320...not at 5'4

Ron, can you make something clear for us? At the 97 O, wasn't Dorian 266 lbs for pre-judging and 274 lbs at the night show? I'm asking this because I've been called a liar several times for this, on several Ronnie vs Dorian threads, Can you confirm this for me? Both Peter McGough, Jim Schmaltz and Jim Manion have confirmed this weights.

so all of u r saying that ronnie weighed in at 287lbs ripped at the 2003 olympia was fake....so he was more like 267lbs.............no way.........COLEMAN DOES LOOK AS IF HE IS 280LBS AND THATS TRUE...ronnie never lies about his weight as far as i know.damn colemaans legs alone look they r about 200lbs themselves....also there is fact that every 1 knows wich is that muscles r heavier than fat by weight.so all these claims made by other pros r true.
