Middle Easterners and Brazilians were the big pushers of the Olympia this year. Tons of folks from those two areas commenting on it. The Olympia goes where the money is. The Middle Easterners have pumped a lot of money and time into bodybuilding the last decade and a half or so, and we're on reasonable terms right now with them, so it's ok to give them their rightful shot. Hadi deserved the win.

That being said, a few years of "politics" mellowing out doesn't mean they can't come back.

Only losers talk about there being "politics" in a bodybuilding contest, of all things. Mentzer was the one who started all of that politics tripe because he couldnt win an olympia title. Ever since that cry baby, many blame politics when they feel they deserved to win when it was obviously not the case. Shawn Ray being a good example.

But it's also like the scene in Rocky I, where Rocky mentions to the promoter that the banner has the color of his trunks wrong and the promoter says "Does it really mattter Rock?"  It meant the world to Rocky, but truth be told no one gives a shit.

Still Bertil was robbed (this probably contributed in some small way to later criminal events and a life in jail)

Rocky is an excellent movie from a social commentary perspective of America over the last 40+ years.  It may seem oddly slow in comparison to today's movies, but it's packed with relevance.  Also, impossible to understand Rocky III (versus Mr. T) or Rocky IV (versus the big Russian Ivan Drago) without watching Rocky I and II first.  You cannot understand America without watching all 4 movies.  Impossible.
