New years resolution crowd at the gym
« on: January 02, 2023, 02:57:15 PM »
So today I get to the gym and to be expected it was super busy with the New Year resolution crowd, but today the fuckery was off the charts, below was just one hilarious thing I witnessed today. Bro got on the treadmill just started sprinting, ripped off his shirt and was just going in😄 part of me was happy for the dude for putting in work, but the balls to have to do this in a public gym amazes me. 15 minutes later, management made him put his shirt back on to which he was giving them attitude about it.

LOL. Can relate.

One gym I was a member at had some characters like that. One guy was clearly insane and management used to give him a pass as he'd train at like 10am after the rush and was clearly special needs. Walk around talking to himself and top off used to think he was a hardcore bodybuilder but was just a fat mess. LOL Staring at us and doing poses. Harmless but I refused to spot the knob on his 'sets'. Some ppl in there I trained with used to humour him and help him do a 'set' (usually just half a rep and you'd have to babysit him on a single rep) followed by 5 minutes of walking around like a peacock again.

Never live in Wolverhampton is the moral of that story.

I haven’t been to a commercial gym in about 8 years but the last one I was a member for about 15 years. There was this guy there about my age I saw him every January for 7 years. He would tell me this is the year buddy. He was gone by February every year and after a few years of this I would see him and I would ask “this the year?”  He would laugh and say I hope so but he gave up every time.

HAHAHA. He's kicking himself every January thinking "For fuck's sake that gymbro guy's going to be there again silently judging me for being a weak pathetic piece of shit. I forgot what time I used to go I hope he's not there."

Give an example of what you did as a newbie?

Walk around the gym in a thong with no show to compete in?

You were under the impression when you first joined the gym you could workout with your shirt off?

This isn’t enough for Lonnie. It’s not a full peel until the shorts come off.

One of my best friends was like that. For years he'd get all pumped up to workout from January to February, then never seen again.

He'd beg to train with me, and it drove me nuts. But i knew him since 6th grade so i let him tag along.

He'd train for like 2 hours doing massive amounts of sets to failure. Never once did he listen to me or follow the workouts i gave him.

Then he would complain about being in pain all the time. He was wearing himself out in a matter of weeks.

It was like he was trying to make up for lost time by training way too much.

Would always get some weird shoulder or knee pain and fuck off for the rest of the year.

He did this for like 10 years.

I still mess with him about it; text him every new year asking if he wants to workout together. ;D

I’m actually going into the gym tomorrow to cancel my membership. I haven’t been in a few years and it’s a waste of money so I think I’m finally pulling the plug.

Looks like your gym was empty in that photo. Lots of unused machines.

that’s funny and these people wonder how we stick with it for all these years and when they ask why I answer with “I honestly don’t know “
