They're trying to paint it that way a bit, but it just seems like Freddie's an asshole, and bunch of drug addicts having drug addict problems. Nick dies of bad dope. The one girl gets high, then kills herself after being told she was ugly and broke up with on instagram by Freddie. The other guy was messed up on dope then jumps to his death.

Unfortunate, but not unknown for people in that life.
