It’s funny cause I understand their addiction and obsession completely. I did juice nonstop from 21-27 and only cause I met my wife did I stop but if I didn’t I would prob be dead today. I understand not wanting to let go though even in 50s,60s etc… and with health issues. I would not want to walk around small and i would prob die first. So I guess I’m as mentally screwed up as them. I would guess most here are whether they admit it or not. If for some reason my wife and I got divorced at some point I would hop right back on and juice till I died.

I don't think it was steroid obsession as much as it was an obsessive need for attention.  BBing gave him that and steroids were what it took for him to get fame and attention.  Remember how he - and a lot of other people - always said he was an truly insecure person?  I think that is what lead to his comeback years ago.  It wasn't because he thought he would win or he wanted to pull a Levrone or he was angling for a supplement line or whatever, he just needed attention to validate himself.
