Haven't read the article but it might have that someone called the police to report a man with a gun andthe police then took action assuming this to be a real threat.

Same thing happened in the UK where a blind man with a walking stick was tasered because someone reported a man with a samurai sword.

Most cops are idiots. Nothing worse than a frightened idiot.

It actually happened a second time in the same part of the country. A blind man had his stick folded and got tasered as it was reported as a gun.
