No More Minimalist Websites. Taking you guys's advice finally
« on: February 12, 2023, 11:23:21 AM »
Ive ran ecommerce sites with minimal design because they loaded faster.  At the time i built them 10 years ago people were using 3G phones.  Now that phones are 4G LTE ang 5G, Its time for me to make them more graphical and look polished like other more modern sites

My question to you folks is when you go onto a website to buy shit, what do you folks look for???😕

If I go to a site I already know what I want. Ie you don’t have to ‘sell’ me the product 99% of the time.

most of the time I google search the product, check prices, go with a major name with a good price and doesn’t need to be the cheapest.

I love getting free shipping. I’ll generally always buy over the dollar figure that gets me free shipping providing it’s not a super niche website.

Amazon platform for marketplaces is where more will go. China is heavily TMALL and JD for marketplaces. Buyers go back to one place, one search engine, feel safe buying, fast delivery, good prices. If our Amazon dow under was anything like the US (we have bugger all products on ours) I’d likely only ever use that app.

Degrees, certificates and designations from the site owner is key.

Tell me Vinceno, why would I go to your website to buy anything, or anyones website, when I can go to AMAZON? Amazon never fails to disappoint. NO ONE is doing business on the net that will ever touch Amazon.

A lot of people don't like Amazon just to begin with but the biggest issue is that Amazon doesn't accept Paypal.   Also for many people, they also don't trust buying medical supplies, there are minimal orders required for food items and even with free shipping, sometimes the price is much higher than buying it someone else.   Amazon wipes out a lot of business but not all of it.

I suspect more people would trust Amazon (even without PayPal) to buy medical supplies than one of your 3000 websites. How can the average customer find your website and then trust you with their personal information or that you don't sell fakes or will scam them? You have to include a section about you on your website to show your customers who you are. Maybe you can also get some endorsements and post them on the website.

It is....I don't like it because if I issue a refund then Paypal keeps the processing fees but a lot of people like it because its a safe way to buy and the sales opportunity is way more than possibly losing a dollar or two over a refund

if you are going to sell - why not sell on Amazon/ebay/walmart-bestbuy marketplace etc ?  I think your answer would be you are doing dropshipping right ?
If you are looking at minimal investments and risk - why not get into the affiliate marketing space ?

I sell occasionally on Ebay if I have a bunch of stuff.   I sold on Amazon many years ago but they actually hold payment for any products for at least 60 days due to their return policy.   I actually have 5 affiliate websites for Amazon, Google Adsense, and other programs but they are fine where they are at.

for affiliate marketing I mean a specific product from someone like clickbank, some pay over $100 per sale.  You know how to buy domains and build websites etc, I am sure you know Google adwords etc.

I know in a life and death situation, when my life is on the line, the only website I will trust to buy medical stuff from is Dr. Goodrum, PhD, CSN, MFT, HPP, CEO.

Im a supply company....most general supplies i can send Next Day but parts can take weeks or even months.  Right now wheelchair parts are hard to get because everyone is trying to save money instead of buying new wheelchairs

Have you thought about venturing into the 3D printing market? You could make some of these hard to find parts on your own and you wouldn't need to keep stock, just print on demand.
