Glad to hear it tatoo. You got told what was up and fixed it. I got told basically the same thing and since have gained 30-40 lbs. I just don’t give a fuck at all. Wish I could. I went to keto fasting a couple weeks back and lost 30 lbs of water then said fuck it and gained it all back.

I hear ya about not giving a fuck right now... it was tough to get mentally adjusted in the beginning.. you will do it when youre ready brother.. how old are you?

I’m 45 and being stupid but today is the day. I just went grocery shopping and no carbs or sugar at all. It sucks cause I like being big but fuck it I’ll feel better I guess. After going through this thread again I realized I gotta do it. I’ve been eating like a pig for about 3 months now and it’s been bad. So thanks for the motivation tatoo as I’m back on track today. Hoping to come down from 265 was todays weigh in to 225. Cardio back to 2-5 mile walks a day and dropping calories to 1500 keto and fasting 12/12 and lifting 3 days a week.

Don't panic.

You need to make changes in your diet.

12-14% bf at 5'6" and 218?  You are kidding yourself unless you are slamming gear and cutting for a show.

218 is way too heavy for your height of 5'6".

What to do:

Drastically lower carb consumption.  No processed foods, no grains, no flour, no sugar.

Go on a very low carb, moderate protein, high fat diet.  No more than 50g carbs a day.  Doing this will lean you up.

A keto or carnivore diet.

Waist size should be no more than 1/2 height.  So check that out.

Your waist should be no more than 33".  Measured at navel.

No need for all those drugs they prescribed you which will likely just mess you up more.

>

Best foods to eat:

Meat, eggs, fish
Non-starch vegetables (green like broccoli)
Berries (but sparingly)
Cheese (not processed cheese), cream
Nuts, seeds
Butter, healthy oils (No canola, soybean, peanut, etc.) Use extra virgin olive oil.

Foods not to eat:

Juices
Fruit (not often)
Flour products
Grains (rice, wheat, cereals, etc.)
Sugars
Low fat foods
Trans fats (hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated foods)
Processed foods

7 foods not to eat - Dr. Ken Berry:

Pizza
Waffles, pancakes & syrup
Pasta
Hamburgers (buns and toppings are bad)
Hotdogs (buns and toppings are bad)
Angel food cake
Chicken nuggets
(Don't eat grains, sugars, vegetable oils)

cant thank you enough for this post my friend!! the blueprint right there...

Go for it my brother from another mother!!

If I were you Rob,I would decrease calories slowly but steadily......it`ll just make it more tolerable until you gets used to it and your body adjusts to the new regimen.....just my 3 CC`s!!

In other words don`t drop from 5000 cals (just an  example) to 1200 cals overnight or you`ll crash and burn......decrease cals progressively, just as you would add weight to a barbell would be my way of thinking, but I`m insane so fuck it :D

Good luck brother!  ;)

Thank you sir, good call. I always crash diet and sometimes I make it sometimes I don’t. I will slowly lower over the next couple weeks.

"When T2D care directed at disease reversal is successful, this includes achievement of restored metabolic health, glycemic control with reduced dependence on medication, and in some cases disease remission. Three non-pharmaceutical approaches have demonstrated high rates of at least temporary T2D diabetes reversal or remission: bariatric surgery, very low calorie diets (VLCD), and nutritional ketosis achieved through carbohydrate restriction. In controlled clinical trials, each approach has demonstrated improved glycemic control and CVD risk factors, reduced pharmaceutical dependence, and weight loss. The three approaches show a similar time-course with glycemic control preceding weight loss by weeks or months, suggesting potential overlap of mechanisms."

I too am too fat for my liking but I think everyone who carries extra weight and especially when getting older should consider what joswift mentioned, Berberine, as a supplement. I am taking metformin since a buddy has some but I'm eventually switching to Berberine if/when the supply dries out.
Why not simply lose weight instead? Yes of course, but it's like a doc sees a newly type2 diagnosed patient, he's put on drugs immediately. Of course the doc will mention weight loss but he knows few will do it but some might take the medicine at least. It might sound crazy to some but many don't take their medication or only when "they remember to take it."

Aside from the metformin/berberine I started some other old school stuff that affects insulin action in the body, like chromium picolinate and lipoic acid.

I've been thinking about metformin too for life extension.

Have you  noticed any side effects?

I've been thinking about metformin too for life extension.

Have you  noticed any side effects?

Metformin was supposed to be bad on the gut. Same with Berberine. But I'm still only at 500mg but only think I noticed some mild hypoglycemia which I take as a positive sign.

Are there any drugs you don't take?

Today was a nice warm weather and thought I haven't even drunk a beer or smoked weed for about 2 years or more. I'd try a lot more if I had access but that might be bad for me. Right now the bad things I'm taking is Xanax and Tramadol along with naproxen to reduce inflammation for a badly strained back on friday. Of course I could do withount any painkillers but I like to feel a little "altered."

I see you American's PED lists and they look wonderful. More products, way cheaper gh, like 3 times cheaper.  :D
