I haven't done a deep dive into their process, but I think the only way they get him out is if he agrees?  But I know there was talk about delegates being to vote their conscience, but I don't know the details.

Biden is firmly on track to get the Scalia treatment...AKA a lot of bed rest for that case of Covid that also involves a pillow over his face.

If Biden gets out and the Dems are smart, they'll Run Mark Kelly at the top of the ticket with Stacy Abrams as VP.

I don't think a pillow is necessary.  The man already has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.

That would be horrible.  But it's not realistic anyway, because I think it has to be Kamala Harris in order for them to spend the money Biden raised so far.  And it would cause a demographic revolt by not putting a black woman at the top of the ticket.

Would not be horrible.  Kelly is stronger than Biden and Abrams is stronger than Kamala.  Abrams is seen as "blacker" than Kamala and would appease the base.  You may be correct in that it's not realistic but there would be some nervous folks in Trumplandia.

I agree Kelly is stronger than Biden, but who isn't?  I don't see Kelly having much traction outside of Arizona.

Abrams is stronger than Kamala Harris, but again, the bar is pretty low.  Kamala Harris might be as dumb as Biden.  But Abrams couldn't win an election in Georgia.  She isn't likeable.  And she's obese. Remember this is partly a beauty contest.

Tough position to be in as a Democrat.  You have a decrepit man out front.  His replacement got 844 votes during her presidential run and might be even less popular than Biden.  And because of the race-based politics that controls the Democrat party, they cannot just push Kamala aside.

The Democrats had no real primary, and hitched their wagon to a dud. The dud got exposed.  They deserve to lose, and lose big.

It's really that simple.

If it wasn't Trump, it would be a landslide, but still could be.

How any rational person could vote for that ticket is beyond me.  And by rational, I mean someone who knows Trump will serve out his term, and that is it.  No fascism, no dictator, no martial law, no handmaid's tale.

Very good speech by Vance.  He is very likable.  Genuine.  Plain speaking.  He will be so much more popular than Kamala Harris.  And much smarter.  Trump made a good choice.

The way he smiles at her at one point really felt like the second genuinely human reaction from him (as opposed to something “acted” for the cameras which was the “normal” Trump up until now).

The first reaction was his face, as he’s being led down the stage after the shooting in this picture—there’s palpable shock (understandably!) and a very real sense of human frailty and fragility, which comes after a near-death experience.

The more famous picture, with his fist up, is peak Trump, in a brilliant showcase of his showmanship and a remarkable demonstration of both self-composure and self-control—qualities which I didn’t really associate with him.

Isn't pressuring Biden to resign, after over 14 million people voted for him in the primary, solely because they do not believe he can win, anti-Democratic?

Such a great friend.

Obama tells allies Biden’s path to winning reelection has greatly diminished
The former president, hugely influential in the party, has told associates that Biden’s path to victory has significantly shrunk.

This is a danger to our democracy. It is also insurrection and election meddling.

But, "it's (D)ifferent when we do it".

Technically, yes it would be counter to the idea that everyone has equal rights... But that is idealism instead of realism. Let's get real!

It's idealism to expect that millions of voters will not be disenfranchised?

Except their primary was a complete and utter sham.

Hate to say this, but of all people Cenk Uygur pointed this out, and was completely spot on.

I agree it was a sham given how they iced everyone out from competing against Biden.  But we are still talking about millions of people who voted for Biden having their votes wiped out and replaced with a handful of power brokers.

This reminds me of the "super delegates" that helped Hillary Clinton beat Bernie Sanders.

There will be a civil war if Kamala Harris does not replace him.  Unless they can convince Michelle Obama to run.
