Shaun Royer power lifter and bodybuilder passes at 52

Power lifter and bodybuilder Shaun Royer passed in August 2022 from breathing complications from Covid.

There's a YouTube video of Rick Piana and Shaun talking about bodybuilding that was filmed several years ago.

Shaun was a music producer in Houston, Austin, and LA.

He would make fun of me when I was in LA finishing up my college degree and working two jobs at UPS and a women's club. He always wondered why I kept my bodyweight below 235. When I told him I was stripping in a women's club, he broke out laughing. But he understood that club rules limited dancers to being under 235 lbs at that time.

Shaun was 52 years old. You are missed my friend. Rest in Peace.

Giant man - well over 300-lb.

Let's not lie and say he died of Covid. That's utter bullshit. He died WITH Covid, with massive anabolic and androgenic steroid abuse being a major underlying comorbidity.

Also, 357-lb, even at 6'4", would be in the morbid obesity range or close to it.

Seems like a nice guy, but no he did not die "of" Covid.

I don think he was much of a Powerlifter. No meets for him listed on openpowerlifting.org...

Big dude - to be 6'4" and 357-lb at 46 was really pushing it though.

And in that Piana video, he said he was working with a cardiologist. So you can be given a clean bill of health by a cardiologist, and it doesn't necessarily mean it's really a clean of health?

Super duper heavyweights making fun of heavyweights? Did he know by pushing 300+ to 400 pounds, he was risking his life?
