Hafthor Gunning for Bells Total

As mentioned, Hafthor wants to try to get the top total in Powerlifting.
Not sure if he'll make it, but he'll climb higher up the rankings.
He's only dabbled in it, but still is top 10 when it comes to total. (Raw w/ Wraps).
He needs to improve his bench to get close. I think he's "only" done 551 in a meet like shown here.

He wants to do this in 2023 and come back to Strongman in 2024. Though he's been around forever, he's only in his mid 30's still.

Makes it fun/interesting for fans of strength-sports..

He only trained a few months for that powerlifting event in 2018. If he dedicates everything to powerlifting in the next few years the way he did strongman and boxing I think he can absolutely break the record. He is more gifted than those other guys.

Thors SQ and DL will rival Bell, his bench is what could hold him back..

Bell literally has a strenuous full time job and still blows him away..bell is the best in the world at something that’s merely a hobby to him. If bell took 6 months off of work and trained and ate 100% correct I doubt anyone would ever touch his number….

The only man capable of competing with him is if eddy hall took powerlifting seriously

I dont think he's devoting his life to it... Just 2023. What else does he have to do, is Yogurt company is now successful, got paid a mil to drop Eddie, etc.
Something he enjoys doing at that level. I dont think he'll make it, but he's not afraid to fail. As shown by fighting someone in teh ring.
You dont know what will happen up-front.

No matter what he will climb up, he's already top-10 of all-time, and thats only dabbling in it.
He'll be back to Strongman for one more run in 2024.

Agreed but thought it might be different.

He had already been strong for a long time so his tendons had had the time to strenghten.
Laid of the heaviest weights for a while but did exercised full time.

I think most of these tears and ruptures happen when you are gaining that strenght for the first time?
