I would guess/assume they have some kind of sponsor there who invited them. Most likely do not pay a penny for the gear, free accomodation and food made by chefs. Alcohol is prohibited in their society but I believe it's still available at hotels etc. How the recreational scene is I don't know but my assumption is that some drugs are freely available to those with a lot of money. Probably just can't show up intoxicated at public places, openly defying their "cultural norms." If anyone is familiar with the scene confirm/deny.

In the World Cup Qatar they had a contract saying beer would be served from 2 hours before to 2 hours after games at the venue. Then the Qatar people recanted and said alcohol would only be available at the hotels or whatever. Some official from the football org. said I'm sure you can go to the game for a couple of hours without drinking beer but the fans were pissed. It was a big thing. But it shows how these supposed sharia countries are not above bending their law for political/economic reasons.
