Muscles & Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators | Official Trailer

Watched a few of these episodes today. An interesting watch.

The UK had it's own version of Gladiators, but one of the channels used to show the American one late at night

I never watched a single episode or even 30 seconds of one. It just didn't appeal to me. When you know the truth of how steroids affect the human body you know there is nothing elite about these folks.  They were like actors in a cattle call hoping they could escape the mundane and then finding out they audtioned for a televised meat market.

PASS.

Well said.

Thanks, brother.  It is full on Hollywood.  My youngest living brother used to tell me about the lines for casting of  what they call "background actors".  People spend their lives hoping to be discovered.  Dionne Warwick sang it best, "...And all the stars that never were are parkin' cars and pumping gas".

In bodybuilding they're more likely to be stealin' cars and pumpin' ass, but the end result is still the same.  A life spent in endless lines with others thinking the same thing.

Yeah it was on ITV late at night. They had better contestants, but worse gladiators. Or maybe they just had terrible costumes.

Bob Chic  and Mike O'Hearn both were Titan.  Bob played the role before Mike.

I liked the first episode of Muscle and Mayhem.  It basically showed there were zero safety considerations.  People playing all these contact events on cement sets and getting serious injuries requiring stitches.  Anyone who got hurt was just kicked off the show and they wouldn't even pay their doctor bill.

Tony Knight, Bob Chick, and Mike O'hearn were all on this show.

In the end nobody staring on the show made any money or became famous from it.

"In the bushes" would be acceptable deviancy. But 4 of you sharing a single bush, idk man.

Shit got weird while I was away.

There were quiet a few American Gladiator series, American, British, Australian... and then the revival on if, where I met the founder of American Gladiators, and got to be on the set on opening day and press conference.  With the rivival, they brought it half of the Gladiators from the IFBB/NPC contests so it was nice to know a few faces there. The revival was shot on Sony Studios in Culver City, California (about 15 minutes from Los Angeles downtown).

We even had Gladiators here in Sweden
