Good main card for UFC 287.

Happy to see the Raul Sosas hype train be put to rest. Every now and then the UFC tries these type of fly-by-night stunts (see: Sage Northcutt) with new talent and then they get wrecked.

Kevin Holland fought a good fight against Santiago and I felt it was not so much a lack of skill on Santiago's part that gave Kevin the win, but instead the sheer difficulty Santiago had with Kevin's height and range. You can't hit what you can't reach.

Adrian Yanez came in confident to fight Rob Font, but I guess many forgot how effective Font's jab and overall striking is. Happy that Font was a professional with the win.

Masvidal (although Cuban), looked like a drunk Puerto Rican pretending to fight in a mixed martial arts event against a game Gilbert Burns. I honestly think Burns took it easy on him. Burns is a world class JiuJitsu player with pretty heavy hands. Gilbert could have taken him down in the first round and tapped him out at will, if he had wanted to. I think they both wanted to make it entertaining and maybe Masvidal had made it clear to Gilbert that this would be his last fight well before they stepped into the octagon. Could Masvidal have won the fight with clean striking? Sure, but you can tell he didn't show up last night.

With Adesanya V Pereira, I think if these guys fought 10 times, it would be like flipping a coin. They have had 4 fights (2 in kickboxing and 2 in the UFC) and Pereira beat Adesanya 3 times already. This was Adesanya's first win and it was an impressive one, but Pereira has knocked Adesanya out twice in the past. I believe they SHOULD have a 3rd match to put it to rest, but Dana White hinted at Pereira moving up to 205 during the post fight press conference. If Pereira wants a rematch to go "best out of 3", I think they would give it to him. That said, if Dana and the UFC entice him with more money to move up to 205lb, it would be an easy move for Pereira given that he is very big (6'4) and probably walks around at 215lb on any given day.

I bought the pay-per-view. For ~$73 CAD, you just get the main card.

I have Fight Pass, where you get the early prelims, but that comes at an extra cost. I had to use a pirate link/stream to get the prelims, because I don't have ESPN+.

You'd think for $73, you'd get it all. But no.  ::)

Let's look at it this way, you are paying 73 so you won't have to watch the WMMA

The main event is starting.  :)

Matt has the big screen covering the up the windows just in case anyone tries to do a drive by shooting at his residence. And the chair is a good barricade. Good thinking.

The chair can also be used for some bench dips 😃

But now I see what he did there.

If I had to guess, he likely has a TV that is an older model (not a smart TV capable of having apps like ESPN or a browser app). He apparently has his laptop on top of that chair with the event being streamed off of it and looks to have an HDMI cable connecting the laptop to the TV in order to cast the event. This leads me to believe that either the TV is an old model and therefore he needs his laptop to stream the event off of or he is simply streaming from an illegal site and needs this sophisticated setup because his TV doesn't have browser capabilities.

It's all very confusing, but maybe Matt can help us make sense of this setup.

pamith,

I have a Canon Rebel T6i camera that I bought in 2016.

Would you recommend that I upgrade, and make this camera My Nikon?:

The fight crowd (Men w/ Testosterone in their blood) love Trumpster.
The roar of the crowd at UFC was a highlight... The lets go Brandon chants are hilarious.

I know we have some limp-wristed Demturdz here on GetBig, they would sit quietly w/ out a peep and know their role if they were there.
Insults from a keyboard are one thing, in real life, they are weak, meek, cowards... (Who wouldnt say shit to anyone)...

The shitter cant even go to the dementia ward w/ out ridicule.

This a snap I took earlier - is Israel Adesanya a closet transgender?  ???

Matt maybe get some drapes that go all the way to the floor. And try mounting the TV on the wall so you can ditch that old school entertainment center.

Why to the floor?

I'm looking for a good blackout blinds system. If you have a recommendation, let me know. Duct tape was cutting it, and they fell down.

I loathe sunlight.

What's the issue here MattCawk? Curtains too thin (buy black out curtains) or you don't want the light bleed through the sides? And are those bay windows?

I don't want to see the light. As in, I want it to be total darkness in here, even at 2pm.

For several reasons...mainly because I often sleep from 4am to 2pm. So I'd prefer to sleep in the dark.

I also want my house to look vacant, so that I can shag women in complete privacy/discretion. Not for my sake, but in the event they have a jealous ex-boyfriend or whatever. Just for the privacy.

Lastly, women are often insecure and want to be in the dark when they get naked. Be it so I don't see a pimple or see stretch marks, or whatever else.

So I don't just want blackout blinds - I want total darkness.

Yes, those are bay windows, which were invented in England. My dad's side of the family is from England.

I have a room set up in total darkness for day time sleeping and to also have a cooler room for the summer without the need for fans and AC

I have a blackout blind fitted inside the bay window and then curtains like yours. I have the sides of the curtains fixed to the wall so no light bleeds in.

Basically see how you used the duct tape, do that and then reinforce/pin it with some small nails, staplers or whatever. Won't need many.

Also you never told me where your sisters hair salon was and does she have your pec genetics?

I asked my mom for the information, but she was sleeping when I sent the text. So I just asked her again.

She does do men's haircuts. I actually thought she didn't - but when she was living here, she did.

I want you to to to my sister's salon, get a haircut, and report back to Getbjg about it.

I will be grabbing those small nails and getting my blackout blinds up. I want total darkness in here.  ;D

That's nice to have a dark room - but I'm in the living room most of the time, so I want this to be a dark room.

Matt, how is the dark room coming along?

Something puzzled me. You wanted a pitch black living room, but not to run an overhead projector which would have made sense (I had one of those, miss it dearly  :'( ) You wanted it for sleeping in. Are you sleeping in your living room? WTH Matt

I wanted Alex to finish Izzy.  Izzy pulled his legacy out of the fire with that knockout.  Watching it, I felt like Alex was getting to him already.  I don't think Izzy was hurt when he caught Alex but I think he was feeling the pressure and had to do something big.  So, he baited Alex in and hit him with the money shot.  It wasn't a lucky shot per say, it was lucky in that it found the mark.  If that makes sense.  I'd love to see Alex get a shot at Jamahal Hill and if successful have him and Izzy settle it at 205.

I think if Alex just bulldogged him against the cage and swarmed him with bombs it would be over quickly.

You can tell how much stronger and more accurate he is.

He held back too much, if he let his hands go he would KO Izzy easy.

IMO, being a strong wrestler with heavy hands is the best combination.
