Miami Beach = Miami.  No one refers to the other outlying areas when talking about Miami or Miami Beach.

Visit for a weekend and make sure you stay for the Monday and Tuesday following it when the out of towners have left.

I more or less agree that Miami Beach has lost its shine and is invaded on weekends by misbehaving young people from surrounding areas. However, the city of Miami overall is on a positive roll: real estate values skyrocketing, more and more good jobs, in-migration of people and companies. There are some hot areas and enjoyable places to visit. But I agree that forty minutes or so up the Interstate would be a better area to settle if you are moving there full time.

I spend about 24 hours in Miami for a few days every year.

Feels like much longer when I’m there.

Incredible city; best place in the world possibly for a visitor.

People who live there usually get caught up and leave in time.

I’ve seen it many times get ugly with friends.

My one friend does well there though and gets a lot of chicks, but he will have to settle down eventually.

I have been there a few times but am mostly surrounded by very old Jewish folk.  They are very polite, at least to me they are and the women somewhat remind me of my aunties. 

I have not had the displeasure of being in the presence of the Dindu Tribe Hebroes while in Miami and do not think I would enjoy it as the ones I have seen elsewhere tend to be vocal morons wearing Dashiki Hats instead of Yarmulkes.
