This is Peter Zeihan. He used to work for George Friedman's outfit before he went out on his own. I've read all four of his books. The first three were good. The last one was excreable. The problem I have with Zeihan is that he favors politics that are the opposite of what his books suggests.
His first three books are about the collapse of the post WW2 global order and the fracking revolution. The unique geography and resources of North America, particularly shale oil, makes us immune to the coming global chaos that he expects to wreck havoc around the world over the next 20 years. His books suggest that the best way forward would be a Trump-like "America first" policy that would be massively enhanced by the fracking revolution. The low energy costs of the fracking revolution (call it Saudi America) combined with automation would bring a lot of manufacturing back to the U.S. (call it Asia Export America). The combination of us being both "Saudi America" as well as "Asia Export America" would deliver us an economic prosperity that would last for the next 40 years. We were seeing the emergence of this boom during Trump's first three years in office, before the covid-19 debacle.
Yet Peter Zeihan himself was militantly opposed to Trump's "America First" policy and was very happy that Biden entered the whitehouse. What do you call it when you favor politics that is the diametric opposite of that suggested by the very books you write? It is called cognitive dissonance, and Peter Zeihan is full of it.
I no longer read or watch anything put out by Peter Zeihan any longer. I suggest you do not pay any attention to him either.
