Referring to Carroll, Trump said, "It's Marla," referring to his second wife, Marla Maples who was his one time mistress and later his x-wife. Trump's marriage to Ivana fell apart when he began an affair with the model Marla Maples in the early 1990's.

In some cases, Trump and his lawyers have suggested he couldn't have engaged in the alleged behavior with certain women because he wasn't physically attracted to them.
Trump has not yet made good on his promise to sue any of the women — although two women have sued him.
