What kind of kicks you guys training in?
« on: June 04, 2023, 05:18:32 PM »
I picked up these when I was in Japan the other week.  Japan is heaven if you have a sneaker fetish.  (I don’t).   You find stores all over.  Every corner. There are places that even have the “claw” type games and other arcade games where you can win vintage and/or one of a kind collectible shoes.  It costs anywhere from 5,000 yen to 10,000 yen to try depending where you go and how valuable the sneakers are.

I got these at ABC Mart. 8000 yen.  ($60)  Cheap, mainly cause they on the ugly side.  But I have always found adidas to make a decent walking shoe.

Taking these to try out and break in when I go to Paris tomorrow.  Lightweight and semi flexible, but wouldn’t wear them for lower body training.  Not that I will go to a gym in Paris.  Their gym scene is almost as bad as japans.

On running cloud x I find to be the most comfortable sneakers to workout and do cardio in. They are extremely light and they breathe nicely also very comfortable. They are around 180.00 a pair but I get them comped from casino so I’ve got about 10 pairs in the last year. I wouldn’t pay 180 for sneakers.

In my basement gym I train in $20 Chuck Taylor knockoffs from Walmart.

When in my garage doing standing presses I wear $35 high top steel toe work boots also from Walmart.

I used to love lifting in work boots, did it for many years.

You do a lot of walking so you would know which is best.   I have pumas for my bike rides and under armor for other stuff.

With these adidas if they work out then great (they usually turn out well) if not, I will leave them behind with no real sense of loss.

Nike Invincibles have been my main shoe. The cushioning is great.

Prior to these I was walking and working out in adidas Climacools for years and they were great as well.

Depends on what I’m training.

For legs I try to wear some type of “trainer” I have Nike Metcons, Romales or sometimes boots.

I will rotate through alot of other shoes for other body parts.

Any kind of flat soled sneaker, usually Vans

I run in untied Nike Frees but they’re too squishy and unstable for lifting.  Well, not with the girly man weights I’m lifting these days, but for 2 plates plus they are suboptimal

Boots are good to lift in but I feel like a tryhard wearing those in the gym with sweats and athletic apparel

I miss the Nano 3....

I might switch to Tyr CXT-1 Trainer or the Strike-Mvmnt Haze trainer

Was not impressed with the Hoka shoes.  Currently getting to know this professional triathlete....she loves them.  I like my Saucony ones

Brooks running shoes now but I’m about to buy a pair of Cole Haan running shoes and use those. If the regular Coke Haan sneakers are any standard of comfort, the running shoes must feel like raw dog pussy.

The Hokas are my least favorite.  I went to Marathon sports, which measures you on this machine and supposedly matches everything.  Bullshit.  A bit narrow for me.

I'm going to check out the ones you listed.
