I am not doing half reps I touch the chest every rep and reracked the barbell that is a full rep. There is a difference between fully extended and elbows locked. When locked the stress is on the bone not the muscle for fuck sake google you ignorant twats. Again by all means lock your fucking elbows I don't care but I know better. Same thing with a squat when you lock the knees you are resting.

1) so there is no stress on the bone while performing a rep?

The reason people lock out is because it allows them to rest and do more reps. Not locking out is harder but regardless locking out when benching puts undue stress on the elbow Joint and I already have elbow issues so no thanks. By all means do whatever the fuck you want "Hulk"

It would seem that you are placing a lot of unnecessary stress on your elbows due to the amount of times you have to get shots in them

I will say when I train chest, shoulders or triceps I never lock out so as to keep constant tension on the muscle and my triceps are pretty FOOKING big due to this reason I believe. I would only lockout if doing rest pause at the end. I’m big on constant tension.

I will say this...look at a gymnasts triceps.  Most have big tricep development.  They lock out.  Bhanks wants people to Google it...where there is just a bunch of bro science bullshit.  The term 'constant tension' is one of those terms I fucking hate.  Flex magazine shit.  Think about the leg extension....when starting off (one those machines where once you get in, the pad is already pushing your legs back) there is tension on the muscle.  When you extend fully, there is tension on the muscle.  So, when is there NOT tension on the muscle during the exercise?

Now, if someone wants to ask how much stress is placed on the tendons...be it fully contracted muscle, fully stretched muscle, mid point, etc?  I think that is a better question.

I went from around 74` to 80,then a guy opened Central City Gym.

As you know back then their weren`t too many gyms other than so called "Health Clubs" which had light chrome weights and leopard patterned naugahyde benches and if you were naive enough to take a shower you might end up on the menu so the "Y" was great!

I took a trip to Boston with my chick....ex-chick nowadays but while there I trained at a place called Mikes Gym......bought a shirt and still had it up until a few years ago...........pretty good old school gym.
