I have had a chunk bitten out of my face. I have been stabbed. I worked as a dishwasher in high school. I worked all through college had several jobs during the school year and summer.  I graduated from a public high school and went to community college before graduating from an in State tuition University. I was then an enlisted soldier in the US Infantry. When I got out I moved to Manhattan with 500$. I lived in a cubicle in Alphabet City, I then got a room on the UES. After 2 years of work I was able to get a 200 square foot studio for 1000 a month. 2 more years and I finally got a 400 square foot 1 bedroom apartment for 1750 a month. I would run out of sub way money and have to walk home from the financial district towards the end of the month. I was always 1 month behind in my rent. I had eviction noticed taped to my door a few times. I managed to self study and earn my CFA at that time. I was broke as hell until my 30s.
