Unfortunately, they get out of control quite often.
Like the fires recently in NM.
I've driven that area recently and it's crazy how many acres were destroyed.
The forest will recover over a few decades. It's not a big deal to have burns. The problem is humans have a short lifespan and don't realize in 100 years that forested area will be livelier than it was before the burn.
