This doesn’t get prescribed for anything but refractory narcolepsy.  There’s one pharmacy in the US that dispenses it and it gets overnighted once a month to the few thousand people that have it prescribed.

That’s my understanding from talking with someone I knew who has it prescribed for narcolepsy.  He had to trial a few other medications to get the script.

But they claim ADHD brains are different and react differently to amps. Vyvance may make me space out, or do useless tasks for hours. I can also go to sleep for 8 hours after the drug hits. That's probably atypical? Maybe I have ADHD or ADD haha.

My apologies, I was thinking of Xyrem, aka GHB.  Polar opposite drugs essentially, but with similar levels of notoriety, hence my confusion.  Disregard my previous post please.

As for Desoxyn and ADHD, it’s very rare and but supposedly also very effective for ADHD symptoms.  I’d be leery of taking it, mainly for the possibility of neurotoxicity that’s seemingly exclusive to methamphetamine.  Something about the addition of the methyl group really ramps up the excitotoxicity in the brain.

Of the few people I’ve known to try it, one told me that it’s very similar to adderall but longer lasting.  Take that for what you will.

Instead of seeking professional help she is using drugs to mask the problem.

This is how it works for most drug addicts and homeless folks, but she's filthy rich so she gets more followers on social media.

I’m with you though, there are other nut jobs  out there that people celebrate that are far more dangerous. As a society we’ve embraced the mentally ill and celebrated them. Anyone who is influenced by Britney Spears has bigger issues.

Actually it was... In the last 20 years after seeing what we were doing didn't make a dent, I was all for making behavior illegal vs drugs. If you can smoke pot, take MDMA, heroin, or even drink alcohol and not impact others... go for it. But if you are breaking into houses to support your habit, driving into oncoming traffic, then stiff penalties.

Yeah I know about the Xyrem.

I read that 5mg of Desoxyn is equal to 10mg of Adderall in a ADHD patient. Seems like the half-life is actually shorter, but whatever. I read that meth dowsn't cause the same cardio effects as Adderall, supposedly if you overdose your heart doesn't beat faster, you think you are ok. It was a long time ago but I seem to remember that meth is more neurotoxic as you say but people were arguing over at which level this occurs and if it's a worry for the patient.

I knew it! I always check the "Early Life" section of Wikipedia in cases like this. And wouldn't you know it, I found this:

My doctor offered me a prescription of Vyvanse, thinking I may have ADHD tendencies, but I don't want it on my medical record.

But I'm thinking it can help me get full fluency in Italian. I'm at the point where I can watch a full movie in Italian, and understand it 100%, but I can't speak it to save my life. Maybe 25%. Enough to get by in Italy.

As you said, it helps you sit around and do useless tasks.

But it feels "hard" on the heart for some reason. I'm sure that feeling would clear after staying on it, rather than using it like the few times I have, with weeks or months in brtwee and. But I can't think of any other way to sit down long enough to learn a language.

I still can't believe we give Vyvanse to kids. Pharmaceutical corporations should have the same reputations as drug cartels.

My doctor says Vyvance can be used indefinitely. I find that hard to believe, but it is rate-limited by an enzyme we produce in the liver in limited quantity. I know someone who took 780mg and did not die.

So 30-60mg should be safe basically to anyone.

But it would kill my already nonexistent appetite.

Van - do you know if there is any pharmaceutical drug that has had success getting people off meth or crack?

Surely trying a pharmaceutical would be better for Britney than meth?
