That's literally what bankruptcy is, which is no big deal. 

They make it much harder to discharge student debt in bankruptcy... because they are corrupt usurers.

Your tax dollars don’t “pay” anything.  The US government prints out however much money it needs, irrespective of taxes collected.  Taxes are collected to reduce the money supply, thereby limiting inflation.
