He had thousands of courthouses that he could have choosen from but he decides to choose one in which a black man who by accounts was actually innocent was beaten with a hammer, dragged behind a car through the streets , and hanged right off the courthouse.   There was also a race riot in that city as well.

The issue isn't really so much the song...there's plenty of songs just like it that's been made for years and its been out there for a few months.   The issue is the video itself, the imagry and mainly where it was filmed at.   I can't blame CMT for pulling the video as it would definitely motivate someone to go out and lynch people...not that it matters now because the video has the attention it wants

There's a lot of trash in this country to clean....rioters, grifters, people destroying cities.   But we don't need a song around that would motive someone to do an Ahmaud Arbery...or get up in a high building and start shooting down at concertgoers in Vegas killing 60 people....I forgot..who was playing at the time ::) ::) ::)

Jason made the song to get attention.....nothing more and he got it.  He should be ashamed of himself

Evidently he’s getting pushback. Hopefully he doesn’t do an about face and holds his ground. The song isn’t about being racist and wanting to lynch people, it’s about not being an asshole and not rioting.

Why do conservatives live in Los Angeles, or CA in general? Never understood that

The coach, you, chaos, and handful of others

Born here. It was a red state growing up until all the liberals moved in and fucked everything up. They are like locusts. They fuck up their area, then move to a red state to fuck up that area. They should stay in the cess pools they create instead of moving to someone else's area.

Stop being so fragile. Your mangina is showing. Did you get upset with all the other various tvs shows and movies who filmed in the exact same spot? No because it's ok if liberals do it. Just not conservatives. You should be ashamed of herself

My country station is Audacy. Was just curious. Looks like the Audacy stations are reducing it big time, with it not showing up much in their song histories. It is a nice sounding song, and for some reason the location of the music video does not bother me. But when you listen to the lyrics it seems to directly target Black people - under the radar (just my reaction, others obviously do not see it that way). Its absence from corporate media seems more than made up via YouTube, ITunes, etc. so Aldean may be laughing all the way to the bank.

I don't do pop country so I haven't heard it but why do you say the song targets black people? Any specific words or images?

I take issue with the song’s anti-constitutional message, specifically:

Quote
Cuss out a cop, spit in his face
Stomp on the flag and light it up
Yeah, ya think you're tough

Aside from spitting in a cops face, these are all constitutionally protected activities, guaranteed by the first amendment.  It’s disappointing and ironic to see Jason Aldean criticize these types of expression, only to turn about and cry about being censored.

Here are the lyrics. I think it points strongly urban and specifically Black. Others may see it differently, but it seems like advertisers agree with me, otherwise it would not be being “cancelled” by media companies.

My brother says that isn't "Country".  He calls it "Hick-Hop".  I can't abide that little Swiftbitch.   ;D

Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn are more my style.  ;D

Patsy Cline was a great singer from a time when you actually needed a strong voice.

As for this song, it's another thing for the left to cry and moan about, nothing more.

He won't back down or apologize. He's not a bitch. And he has a strong woman by his side. Liberals just love to cry about everything and hear imaginary dog whistles at every turn. The Leftist cucks are so weak and beta. At one time, only women were leftists. Imagine thinking you are a man and claim to be a Lefty? You literally think like a woman  ;D

Or you know, the songs sucks and is just an anthem for socially retarded losers.

I don't get how people thinking voting a certain way opens a doorway to being able to act like a complete social retard.

Rooting for a team doesn't make you the prom queen.

It shows a negro robbing a store. I'm sure they didn't have to look to long to find a video of that.

Why do you capitalize the word black, do you do it with white also?

Yes for White, also Hispanic or Latino capitalized, standard practice in US written language now when referring to race/ethnicity (for better or worse).

I agree.  The whole point of a “dog whistle” is the implied bigotry, stopping short of actually identifying a demographic group by name.  Urban/city meaning Black is the classic one.

To me, the lyrics themselves are the problem (including the vigilante aspects of the lyrics which actually do point back to lynching, even if that was not conscious intent of the artist). I am willing to give Aldean the benefit of the doubt on both that aspect as well as where the video was filmed (who the hell keeps track of nineteenth century history?). By the way, Jason Aldean is a strong artist, even though he and especially his wife really aggravate me.
