When some people get pulled over they get nervous to the point to where they mess up direct commands or stutter. Cops are trained to know that and to not start shooting unless there is an actual weapon in visual sight....that doesn't mean that he has to be holding it but simply in visual sight in which he clearly did not see, he just assumed which is a big no-no.
In addition, since there is an officer on the opposite side, he should not have taken the shot anyway as he could have hit him in the crossfire. I feel sorry for his family. You raise a son and see him become an adult all for him to be gunned down in less than a minute for moving the wrong way
Sometimes drivers get nervous and crash into oncoming traffic, not my problem.
Guy rapidly reached into console between the seats, that's pretty much the thing you don't do.
Ironically his right hand was so fast into that console most of you probably missed it.
But the guy was on drugs and did something that was obviously stupid as shit.
Regardless people have this really immature view of cops. They break the law like everyone else, this idea that magically they should never ever is just stupid.
Cops are just regular people just like everyone else. They fuck up, burn out, get nervous, suicidal etc. Part of the gig. I'll let my cousin criticize cops she was willing to become one. But the people who think they could do better while fully admitting they'd never ever even dream of slumming so low as to become a cop are just stupid.
Don't get me wrong police systems are mostly garbage but that's not the fault of the cops. Police unions are an obvious example of the problem but there's obviously other.
