I bought properties during the real estate crash. I saved everything I made from 9-34, and can live off what I have now. I have one 7-unit little apartment building that pays me about $56K per year after tax [minus upgrades/expenses].

Go look up the cost of living in Thunder Bay.

I can get away with $1,300 a month in expenses. That's under $16,000 a year.

$160K per decade.

$800K over 50 years, if I live that long.

Don't tell me you haven't made $800K in your life, Dave.

I just saved everything, so I could sit around and do nothing forever.

That said, it hurts me in some ways.

From what I can tell, some Getbiggers make serious bank.

I can't remember which member here is a lawyer who said "I got my own bills", in response to someone.

How can ANYONE be a lawyer and not set themselves up with rentals and other residual income streams for life, to not have to worry about basic living bills?

I just find it weird - people who make $250K+ per year, and are literally paycheck to paycheck.

I know a nurse who makes $91K CAD per year pre-tax [about $68K USD, which is WAY less than Texas nurses make, from what I know], and...SHE'S PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK.

I also have one GIC which expires in February, and I only recently learned it pays 4.9%. GIC's are WAY up in Canada now.

This is 2x the traditional interest rate.

One GIC at $300K = $15K interest for me coming in February.

That one GIC pays all my bills.

I'm not sure why anyone would think a million or two is "rich".

No I don't and you've been on my livestreams.  I don't know how we ended up talking about you or slavery but getting back on track, he didn't have any child pornography but did have some inappropriate erotic art.  The D.A looked at his computer and all of his stuff and said he wasn't going to charge him but the city attorney did.  He plead guilty to obscenity and was given 3 years probation and a 100 dollar fine with a stipulation that he couldn't be in the presence of a minor without the permission of a parent or guardian.  Obsenity is a misdemeanor.
