I can't prove anything but insulin itself isn't very toxic. Diabetics get serious organ problems but that's because they go around with higher baseline blood glucose. As you know sugar wreaks havoc on the body. Maybe you can confirm this, do you know what kind of blood glucose he/she has? I know they get the a1c value tested too but I did read that diabetics generally accept a somewhat higher baseline glucose, and over time the sugar is damaging. I'm not saying insulin is healthy, but I think acutely insulin itself doesn't cause organ damage you know? They elevate insulin for maybe 4-5 hours a day, maybe sometimes twice that if training twice a day, but it's not constant high insulin with Milos. There are those who do run insulin round the clock though, on another forum not too long ago a fella said he was doing 300 units of Lantus a day and now couldn't lower it past a certain range. That's scary.
Regarding overdosing insulin and dying, it's completely remarkable that we don't hear about it. I think most diabetics have had hairy situations with some ambulance trips and maybe hospital stays. That bodybuilders aren't dropping left and right is amazing imo, I haven't even read about one single OD death in a couple, three decades!

Diabetes is a bitch I'm sure, you're always thinking of your sugar and worse.

I had a profoundly negative reaction to Para in the early days. Didn't touch it for a long time but then used quite a bit. You just can't compare it to some hard drug because it's a completely different thing imo.

Rather than insulin being dangerous in and of itself, I was mostly thinking about people not knowing they were approaching a hypo - it can come on pretty quickly if you don't recognise the warning signs - wonder if any of the Pros carry glucagon just in case...?

In our case, they use an on-the-body glucose monitor (not a finger prick) and also an on-the-body insulin pump, aiming for between 5 to 7mmols BG level - over 14 being hyper so required a ketone test/correction, and under 3 being potential hypo.  Because this is pretty much automated apart from manual bolus input when eating, the HbA1C is fairly controlled - god bless those in the past who let theirs build up without having the tools to know - I've seen the results on older folks :-X

And 300 units of Lantus seems insane!!  24 was our background setting before we moved to the pump - but then again they were probably eating crazy amounts of carbs

Pros are testing BG levels when using this stuff, right?  Not guesswork surely!?

And the only BB drug I didn't like the sides of was clen - made me feel vaguely twitchy/snappy/fighty - very bad when bouncing

I think the only way someone could die from insulin OD is if you are in the wood or in the desert with nothing to eat in sight.

Must of us who used insulin and went hypo know the CRAZY URGE to eat EVERYTHING in sight when you go hypo.

First you sweat, then you get dizzy, then you will find anything and sight and binge even on food you don't even like if that's what is available.

Then, 20m or so later, you feel fine again

Happened to me in a Chinese restaurant , I started feeling woozy just as the food arrived, 4 seperate meals to share
I just started shovelling food down until I came around
I looked at my wife and she just sat there looking at the four empty plates..
She only had a few mouthfuls

No I don't think most pros use a glucometer. It's just "take 25iu, drink glucose." I'm sure 99 out of a 100 pros do NOT know what glucagon even is. They are not testing BG and plotting their carb intake or whatever, that shit is too complicated. Luckily despite the risks bad hypoglycemia accidents almost never happen, never heard of anyone dying. I never managed to get myself into real trouble despite intentionally making myself hypo etc.

Exactly, if for some reason you couldn't get food, but even then it's probably not that easy to kill yourself or we would have heard of it.

I know that 99.9% of reported 'pro stacks' are BS, but has anything ever been posted on GB about his intake?

I'd kind of stopped following the sport around this time, but I understand that he finally blew his kidneys with some sort of monster Milos stack, no..?

Oh, and just to be a bastard - reposts

I dunno man, I respect your knowledge in this area 100% but one of my kids is type 1 and it can be scary shit - not sure how we could be sure it's OK to use it if you don't need it - surely there are no studies in this area?  (VanB proves me wrong in 3..2..1  ;D)

Using GH in higher amounts essentially renders you a type II diabetic .. the gh makes your body less sensitive to the effects of insulin to the point where your body can’t produce all that it needs—hence the insulin supplementation.  In short, the bodybuilders DO need it.

In American Psycho they never reverted to just ratting off their bank account exact numbers - they focused on more subtle , nuanced tings such as business cards and suits

the same is with bodybuilding - as you get up in the ranks no one talks about EAXCT NUMBER DRUG USE , the tools on YouTube do just because people will blindly tune into that shit - -every high school kid will watch it before he beats off at night too

but for all the gyms bros who "want exact numbers from pros" its a pipe dream - you're better off hounding Chris Aceto or Haney - they would know more about , or even be more inclined to talk about dosages and rat off numbers of shit -

its like asking a guy how his wife likes to get fckd with the pro dosages numbers shit nowadays

I remember onetimehard talking about two canadian pros he knew that didnt count dosages they just shot bodyparts until everywhere was sore and then waited for the pain to go away and shooting again

They were actually friendly, or so both of them say.

Flex was definitely arrogant as fuck in his early days, though.  "A message to Kevin Levrone...I don't knock on doors, guy!  I knock doors over!"

He later said it was all a façade -- that he was deeply insecure and projected himself as cocky to compensate.  Durrr!  That was patently obvious.  He was a teenager in a muscle suit and felt he should act the part.  Tom Prince, of all people, apparently called Kenny out on his b.s.

LOL.  It took the likes of Tom Prince, one of the ultimate drugged-up delusional types, to snap Wheeler out of his own reverie.

One dead, another a peg leg.

Christ, I'm glad I got out when I did :/

I had always read the Dorian and Flex got along. I believe that they actually shared a hotel room in Ohio during a storm called “the blizzard of ‘93”.

Flex at his peak and peak usage was a walking talking douche, he hit on anyone and anything, he would eyeball the girls to fark and the guys to fight all with his posse of Rico Chris and all the other Venice hood rats. Then would complain about a certain big white guy wearing a ghost busters t shirt  ;D Lot of ego in Venice in those days, the nubain clouds of aggression hung deep over the place especially low calorie or show time. Nothing like it is now, the place could be intimidating but also the best atmosphere to train anywhere at anytime period.
